There is only one thing left. The wire connecting to the fuse box or the ground wire from the fuel pump. Try connecting a wire from the + side of the battery to the fuel pump directly. If that works, the feed wire is bad.

Check for a burned fusible link under the hood. If you have power at the fuel pump relay, you could have a bad ignition switch or bad oil pressure switch...accordianman

SOURCE: my fuel pump is not getting power, I've changed

The fuel relay and inertia switch could be two different items. The inertia switch kills power to the pump. If there is a relay in between the inertia switch and the pump, then it would mean the inertia switch was tripped by slamming a door or an impact. Check your owners manual for the inertia switch. The fuel pump relay is located under the dash on the drivers side. The fuel pump relay is green and it should be next to a brown relay for the ignition.

I have a 2004 Daytona 600. It's been sitting for several years. I changed the battery, oil, gas, and spark plugs but it still won't start. Engine turns but don't know of it's not getting gas or fuel.

You should hear the pump in the gas tank turn on for 2 seconds when you turn the key to on, not start. A buzz or hum from the tank area? If yes, the pump is supposed to put enough pressure in the line to the engine and the injectors for the car to start. Maybe not enough pressure if it won't start. Change the fuel filter and try again. If no help, maybe a weak, tired pump. You will need the fuel pressure checked to compare to specs for your model . Autozone and others rent or loan fuel pressure testers.

If no noise from the pump, check the fuel pump fuse, under the hood in the power distribution center or fuse/relay box. In that same place is the fuel pump relay. Locate the pump relay from a diagram on the fuse/relay cover. Hold your finger lightly on this pump relay while someone cycles the ignition key from off to on. If the pump circuit is working right, you should feel the relay click. That should send power to the fuel pump to turn it on for that 2 second period. If you feel it click and the fuse is good, possibly the pump or the pump's ground wire is faulty. If you don't feel the relay click with key turned to on, the fuel pump circuit will have to be diagnosed. Good luck with your project. Let me know how you progress.

I have a 88 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban. fuel pump won't work..I changed the fuel filter put a new sending unit n fuel pump changed the relay n fuse n fuel module changed the injectors everything has power n is...

It sounds like you do not have a good ground connection between the fuel pump (possibly mounted inside the fuel tank) and the chassis/neg side of the battery. This is sometimes caused by rust on mounts etc. I would try test connecting a wire from the negative/chassis side of the battery directly to the fuel pump chassis/mount. Good luck!

No power goin to fuel pump checked fuses and they are all good

Check fuel pump relay located usually on the firewall. Did you pinch the wiring harness when you put the transmission back in?

My 1998 monte carlo runs as long as u put gas down the multi thing changed the fuel filter wat could it be gas goes threw the filter

Is the fuel pump turning on? You should hear a 2 or 3 second buzz or hum from the rear (the pump will be on for that long) when you turn the key to on. If you hear nothing, check the fuel pump fuse, could be in the fuse panel inside the car, or under the hood in the relay/fuse box.
If you don't hear it, the pump may have failed. To be certain, one needs to check if there is any gas under pressure at the engine. Or one could check for power at the fuel pump connector when the engine is being cranked over-if power there, but pump does not work, pretty certain it is a failed pump-tank will have to be removed to change the pump.
If the pump is working, next thing to check would be the fuel injectors and injector circuit. There should also be a fuse for the injectors-probably in the under hood fuse box.

I can not get my car to start i think i have a fuel problem

Have you sprayed brake cleaner in the intake to see if it will start, if it does then check the fuel pump fuses and the fuel relay, before changing the fuel pump make sure there is power to the fuel pump (test light works fine) always change the fuel filter when putting in a new fuel pump.

The age 1986 warrants a fuel pump replacement. Check for rodent damage in the fuel tank harness area when you install new pump. Also change the fuel filter.
