Common problem with that motor is the intake gaskets fail. It could be that but in reality it sounds like head gaskets are gone

Pontiac grand am I had a diagnostic reading at autozone for diagnostic codes po128,po440 and p1189 don't know what they mean for a 2003 Pontiac grand am gt 3.4 liter and v6 engine vehical

PO128 -- engine coolant low or thermostat not working
P0440 - EVAP system malfunction, gas cap loose - Cat convertors missing from car can cause this

Camshaft wear/lifter not operating/damaged valve components.

How do you reset the change oil light on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am?

Turn the key to the "on" position, but don't start the engine. Remove the cover from the fuse panel on the left of the dash with the door open. Press the RESET button 3 times and hold for 10 seconds until the bell chimes and the CHANGE OIL light blinks. Replace fuse panel cover, start your car and the light will be off.

Oil light flashing, last oil change 7 wks ago

I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.
