10W30 should be fine unless that is a diesel engine... automatic transmission takes Type F fluid. Just looking around to see if i have the repair manual for that truck.

2002 jeep liberty power steerin seem to be going out . Started with a wird noise check power steerinfluid it was low added one bottle. It seem better but than it became hard to steer

oops do not just add fluid. and the fluid not stated, brand and type. ouch.
many jeeps run very SPECIAL fluid.
the pumps runs at higher RPM and Dexron will not work on my other jeeps. id not own liberty but, can advise.
never ever use the wrong fluid in any A./T or P/S or you will be sorry.
seems its bad system if it drops level, so is moot point now (bet)
my jeep , i had to put in a new pump and napa said, our pS fluid works
and the bottle said just that, and foamed up , fast and the new pump
failed in 1hour. never ever listen to clerks. ever. run spec. lube.

the operators guide pages on capacities page 2004 (i dont have 02 books)
shows this.
Mopar ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid
+4 is downward compatible to 3, its a superior lube.
+3 ended in 2005.

do not use anything else. mixing brands/types asks for trouble.
read all these post , then act.
the additives, in all brands will be different and will not mix well.
do not mix that. (the dino, syn reasons, are all religion, on mix.)

the ATF+4 bottle must say on back , licensed through Chrysler.
many wana be's lie. (they can, and do)

this +4 fluid is a true synthetic and has vastly better spec;s
high heat, longer life, 100kmiles, and very low shear spec.
the PS pumps , some run real fast and i've seen many foam up.
using the wrong fluid. get the real thing.
and do not mix them ,drain and fill with rear ATF+4

good luck

How much rear end oil does it take

check the specs in your hand book or workshop manual but normally 2 pints will cover it . make sure that you use the correct oil. If it is s limited slip differential you can ONLY use Limited slip oil but if it is a normal diff then you can use either oil The grade should be oep 8w-90

Differential fluid low?

yes.low on fluid will damage the bearings open the cover and look for burn fluid or metal shavings. replace all seals and bearings. Torque pinion bearing to specs use new crush washer on pinion shaftDont forget friction modifier and recommend gear oil.
Good luck.

How hard is it to replace rear end output shaft seals (inner axel seals) 98 town and country? What fluid goes back in?

I assume you mean trans axle seals in front.
You have to remove the drive axles, best done on a lift, not in your driveway.
Trans fluid lubes the Diff, that is in trans.
ATF4 etc, whatever the fluid replaced the original spec, when it was new.

Need fluid specs/types

any of the generic PS fluids will work, avail from Kragen, Autozone etc., brake fluids, use DOT 4, oil, 10-30W, any name brand will fill the bill, Valvoline is my favorite followed by Castrol brand.
Ebay motors is a good source for an owners manual
