Question about 1992 Honda Accord

Turn signals do not work

For about six months, while my turn signals did work, I was getting an intermittent ticking noise under the dashboard. The turn signals finally stopped working and the ticking noise increased nonstop. I traced the ticking noise to the turn signal relay by touching it with my finger. I installed a new relay which did not solve the problem. With the new relay the ticking sound continued and the turn signals still do not work. The emergency flashers work fine with either the new or old relay installed. When the emergency flashers are on the excessive ticking noise disappears except for the normal ticking that you would expect from the flashers. When the flashers are on both the indicators in the dashboard light up as well as the all the exterior lights.

I checked the turn signal fuse and it is ok.
If there is a different relay for the emerg flasher how come it doesn't work when the turn signal relay is removed? When I put either the old turn signal relay or the new one I bought the ticking sound resumes, the turn signals don't work but the emerg flashers do.
    Thanks Gary

Might be a fuse problem. have you checked them?
also, there are two different flashers...one for the hazard lights and one for the turn signals. so if your hazard lights work, that doesn't mean your turn signal flasher is ok.

On this car there should be a fuse for the turn signals on each side plus one relay
When the relay goes bad you lose signal on both sides.
When the relays starts having problems, you may also get a ticking noise.

Go to the nearest car dealer and get a replacement relay.

Right turn signal will not continue to tick.

Check your bulbs. Almost always your description means a bulb is burned out. Check for good grounds.

Signal lights work but stop aftrt a few blinks

You need to replace your flasher cam, to find this you need to turn your indicators on then look around under the dashboard for the thing making the tick tick noise, this is your flasher cam.

Don't have turn signals and its not my fuzes.

Look under the left side of the dashboard for a turn signal flasher. Most vehicles have two flashers; one for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights. If your hazard lights are working, follow the "ticking" sound...this is NOT the flasher that needs replacing. Look for the other flasher and replace it.

There is a ticking noise everytime my car is on that sounds like the turn signal noise but theres no pattern or order to the ticking. i thought the hazard switch was bad, what could the ticking noise be?

It could be a relay clicking under the dash due to a bad ground circuit somewhere in the vehicle. It would be best to have a professional put an ear to it.

Malibu 2006 LT. The Left Front and Right Tail Turn Signal Lamps don't blink, the light just stay on but not blinking, check bulb ok. What could be the problem here? Thanks.

The other turn signal bulbs are blown, or the turn signal unit itself is bad. it is under the dashboard and makes the ticking noise when the turn signal is on.

Transmission problem ? Dash gauges

Ignition switch and wire harness for ignition switch. My husband did both. I was losing dash gauges intermittently and overdrive. Now that is fixed and six months later looks like I need the multi function switch(turn signal, wipers, cruise lever). My husband has to take that all apart again for this problem. My turn signal blinker noise won't shut off. Driving me crazy.

if it's a top end tick from the engine. probably because oil ran down and it just needs to lubricate the head again.
