Question about 1987 Nissan Pickup

Open Question

My 87 Nissan Pickup has been dying while driving down the road. It acts as though it is not getting enough fuel or air on acceleration and then it dies every time. It then acts like it is flooded. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now and is driving me and my wife insane.

It may be throttle position sensor or camshaft sensor. Most likely the throttle sensor.

SOURCE: where is fuel-filter on 2.4L D21 Nissan pickup?

it should be under the car close to the driver side door. if you can't see it trace it from the fuel tank it should be attached to the fuel line. if you have the repolacement in your hand you will know what you're looking for

My 1984 Nissan pickup did the same thing. Me and my dad replaced the carb on it, which seemed to help some. Though, our fuel to air ratio is screwy. Might be worth looking into

Have a diagnostics done as it might as well be a faulty Air Mass Sensor or some other sensor.

My 1996 nissan altima will stat and idle just fine but, when you try to drive it down the road it boogs down and acts like it wants to die. Do you know what would cause this.

a plugged fuel filter can cause this also a defective fuel pump, the other part that can cause this is called a MAF sensor.

Not enough info, but check the fuel system recall they had for a number of years. Also check the fuel filter & pressure.

Hello, I have a 2002 nissan sentra, 1.8 ltr..and the car sundenly has started acting as if it is not getting fuel, sometimes it runs fine for about 15 minutes, stopping and going as it should, then it will...

You will need to run a fuel pressure test on it to see if your fuel pressure is correct. How many miles are on the car and when was the last time the fuel filter was replaced.

87 isuzu pickup has extreme hesitaion when accelerating. Will cruise fairly well but goes "dead" on acceleration. Would problem be pump in carburetor or fuel filter or other?

fuel to air ratio is probably wrong try cleaning air filter or getting a new one not positive just a suggestion try taking it out and running it first before you get a new one
