Question about 1997 Ford Escort

1 Answer

My heat and air won't come on.

There are no sounds when I turn the heat and/or air on, not even the blower. Someone suggested it was a fuse, but I don't know which one to change.

On the back side of the fuse compartment cover,it shows the different locations for the fuses. Look for the one that says fan or blower fan.

The Heater or Air Condition not blowing

You may need a mechanic for this. There is a 40amp fuse for the blower in the fuse box under the hood. There is also a blower relay. But you also have fuses and components for the automatic climate control which turns the blower on and off.

Someone will need to check the fuse for the blower, then the blower motor and the resistor.

My keyless remote for my mercury sable 2001 just stopped working. I changed the battery, but it won't work. Is there a fuse/connection ( less expensive ) that I could try ?

It will not make the car not heat unless you have an electronic climate control but it will make the blower that blows the heat not force the air into the car and you will only get air blowing when the car is moving. Check fuses first (refer to manual if your not sure where they are) and then make sure your blower (the fan) is working when you turn it on low/med/hi etc.

I have a 2000 Nissan Xterra and the 2 blower fuses keep blowing causing the the heat not to work. When I went to switch out the fuses the first time the motor and heat worked right away but only for a...

you have a problem with the motor circuit drawing more amperage than the fuse will allow. it could be the motor itself, or something that is keep the motor from turning freely. otherwise it's a wiring problem. i would suggest unplugging the motor, and then turning on the fan. hopefully, if there is some short to ground, which sounds unlikely, the fuse will blow. otherwise i suggest replacing the blower motor. good luck!

Cold this morrning, went to turn on heater, got no responce

When you turned the heat on and 'got nothing' do you mean no heat, or no air blown out at all? If no air is moving, no sound, then yes, it could just be the fuse for the blower. Your original owners manual should give you the location for that. If you don't have it, go to the Ford site for a free download of it. Let me know if you need further help.

Air Conditioning on 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK

You could remove fuse 25 (30amp) in the underhood fuse panel, but then no blower for AC, heat, or defrost. Need to replace blower regulator.
