There is a cable that attaches to the inside door latch release handle. The plastic that retains this cable is most likely broken. I have seen this before. If the retainer is not holding the cable sheath correctly, the entire cable moves when the handle is pulled and does not release the door latch.
Remove the door panel and inspect this cable. You will see 2 cables (one is for the door lock). If the plastic is broken, you will need a new interior handle assembly.
Hope this is helpful!!

You may need to diconnect the power lock button on the driverside door by prying it out (with the window controls). Problem may be in the switch or a short in the wiring. If this is not it, it may be in the door switch on either the drivers or passengers door.

you need to remove the inside door panel to gain access to the guts of the door handle. its a pretty extensive repair for a novice.

You have to remove the interior door panel and look up inside the interior of the door near the door handle and you will see the fasteners. There will be a rod too that has to be removed that goes to the latch. I would also highly recommend that you get a good repair manual for your vehicle. These manuals help walk you through though repairs. Good luck with it.
