Question about 1998 Pontiac Sunfire
My car was savataged!!! Purposely! I've had overheating issues alot and i changed my waterpump which was no good then had someone else do my thermostat. Which I believe was done wrong! My car runs like ice on the xprsswy on the main roads fine! Ne ideas???
On the back of the engine which is kind of hard to see is a metal pipe that runs from the bottom of your radiatior under your engine and up the back of your engine. This pipe hooks up to your water pump housing unit. The thermostat is in between the two. Its a pain to get to but if thats what the problem is thats where it is. You can see the pipe I'm talking about easiest by jacking the car up and folling it up your engine.

Check your pressure and flow rate when car is running, I bet you have a plugged heater core, I had the same problem, and after I fixed everything else, I replaced it with a 100 dollar part, runs better than before.
