I Would go with springs. I understand people enjoying the air ride but I promise it is more trouble than it is worth. Compressors have a 100% failure rate. What will happen is the airbag will end up getting a hole or tiny crack in it so the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag kills the compressor and you have to parts you have to constantly keep buying. With air suspension there is never a permanent fix. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at the conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. And for a very affordable cost. I added the link below so you can check it out. http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm I hope I was of some help Good Luck!!!

Hello and thank you for using FixYA, to replace the air suspension pump on your town car, you must remove the three 11mm nuts and the air filter housing assembly, then remove the two 8mm bolts and the washer tank and set aside, then unplug the air suspension pump that sits below the removed items, and depress the orange ring to unlock the air line and pull the air line out, then from underneath the car, remove the three 11mm nuts that retain the pump, reverse procedure to reinstall.

Trying to find a wiring diagram for air compressor. Rear air ride is out compressor not running at all checked fuses just replaced relay .

I know that you are trying to fix that air ride, but i put these replacement springs on my 93 towncar. Fixed the compressor problem (eliminated it) and cost a whole lot less. The install is kinda hard if you've never dropped a rear end before. Need a good tool set, a couple jacks, and jack stands to get it done. Check it out. Even having a mechanic install them would be cheaper than replacing a compressor.

Clockspring on 1994 lincoln towncar

It should be fine the 1990/1994 dont appear to change much esp in that side no more steering controls are added unto 95 odd But you may find ford may have changed connectors to stop you doing things like that and ruining there sales lol

If your clock spring is buggered your horn wont be working either nor will your cruise control controls.

My Lincoln Towncar is having a problem starting and running. It's making a swooshing sound and dies out. As if there isn't enough air getting to the engine. Can anyone help me please?

Check a spark plug wire fire spark (Autozone has a tool to do this safely for around $10) if no spark test the input wire at the coil, if there is power at the input plug (red wire) Replace the coil!

1992 TOWNCAR AIR SUSPENSION REAR ONLY WONT AIR UP

It sounds to me like you have a hole or cracks in your airbag. The dealership typically diagnoses it as the compressor but that is only to keep you coming back and wasting more money on something that will never truly be fixed. The Compressor is the problem but the airbags are bad as well. When the air bag has a hole or leak in it the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag will kill the compressor. It sounds like this is what happened. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. This is a PERMANENT fix and ALOT cheaper than going to the dealership.
