Question about 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe
It ran great the first two days we had it. The previouse owner had a speaker box that they took and the radio, not stock, only played from the tweeter in the passanger door. My fiance got the door speaker to work after tracing the wires the previouse owners had run, and removing an amp. The truck still ran when we got back from running errands, he tackled the speakers on the drivers side door. He started the truck and the speaker still didn't work so he shut off the truck and about an hour later the truck wouldn't start There is a plug with one black and one gray wire going to it but I don't know forsure what it is.

Try checking the spark plug, and the spark wires, if that doesnt clear things up then try replacing the roter under the distributor cap and check the cap for any corrosen

check wiring on passengers side near the rear hatch speaker, the rear door speakers are run through them also. i had the same problem and it was a unplugged connector at that location

SOURCE: Just bought the truck 2
Sounds like a bad fuel pump.Check the pressure it should be 60-66 with key on engine off. If its the 5.7 or 5.0 engine. The fuel injectors on these motors need at least 52 psi to open the poppet valve inside the injector to allow fuel thru.
