SOURCE: Engine Diagnostic code P1399 for

  1. This code means Random/Multiple Misfire Detected. Start by changing out your spark plugs and spark plug wires, most importantly the wires. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may need a new distributor cap/rotor, or ignition coil.
  2. In some rare cases, I have seen this problem caused for malfunctioning fuel injectors.

SOURCE: check engine light obd code po171,po300,po302,po303 1997 camry 2.2 ltr.

PO171 OBD2 Code basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 has detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1. The P0171 is one of the more common trouble codes.

his code is triggered by the first downstream (front) O2 sensor. The sensor provides a reading of the air:fuel ratio leaving the engine's cylinders, and the vehicles powertrain/engine control module (PCM/ECM) uses that reading and adjusts to keep the engine running at that optimum ratio of 14.7:1. If something is not right and the PCM cannot maintain the 14.7:1 ratio, but rather there is too much air, it triggers this code.

We can't help you here

You need the car diagnosed

I doubt you have lifters, should have
OHC valve train

Most likely the oil passages are clogged up
in the cams with sludge

That's what happens when the wrong oil
& too long between changes takes place

You ruin the engine

After changing out the spark plugs, wires, rotor, and rotor cap, the check engine light remains on. (Took it in to diaganostics at Auto store, they get the reading that there is still a misfire, even after...

Honda does not supply a diagnostic flow chart for this code. P1399 is a random misfire code and Honda/Acura has reported for various models that this could be caused by clogged EGR ports. In addition there is the possibility that the valve cleareance specification may be out of range

P0302,P0303,P0304;P0300 and P1399 found by the code reader on my honda CRV 2001 model.what those are means?

From www.hondasuv.com:

The P1399 random misfire along with one or more of these codes: P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 -- indicates a problem with the valves. The B20 engines in the 1997-2001 CR-Vs are known to have problems with valves tightening and then 'burning'.

So the first question is when was the last time you adjusted the valves? If you don't know or never have, then have them adjusted. Soon...

I have a 2001 Honda Crv and the check engine light is flashing. We have changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Auto zone put a mter on and said it is miss firing on # 2 with code P1399.

Check #2 injector for proper operation. If thats ok, test the Distributor assembly and crank sensor for proper operation. These components control fuel and spark timing!!

2000 honda crv p1399 and p0301 check engine codes

Code P1399 is specific to Honda - it is an error code for "multiple variable misfires detected". P0301-P0304 are common OBDC codes for all cars, specifically "misfire in cylinder X".

You will get the P0301-P0304 codes on your OBDC reader when you plug it in (if actually errors), but will only find the P1399 if you select Honda as the manufacturer.

Just got these errors today on my CRV 2000. Now I have to figure out what is causing two of the cylinders to misfire.
