SOURCE: my code reader says p1401 ford exscape

p 1401 is a code for differential pressure feedback egr circuit high input there is a small square sensor on the engine with a vacuum line here is some info Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System Monitor” Differential Pressure Feedback EGR
The Differential Pressure Feedback EGR System Monitor is an on-board strategy designed to test the integrity and flow characteristics of the EGR system. The monitor is activated during EGR system operation and after certain base engine conditions are satisfied. Input from the ECT, IAT, TP and CKP sensors is required to activate the EGR System Monitor. Once activated, the EGR System Monitor will perform each of the tests described below during the engine modes and conditions indicated. Some of the EGR System Monitor tests are also performed during on demand self-test.

The Differential Pressure Feedback EGR sensor and circuit are continuously tested for opens and shorts. The monitor looks for the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR circuit voltage to exceed the maximum or minimum allowable limits.

The DTCs associated with this test are DTCs P1400 and P1401.
The EGR Vacuum Regulator solenoid is continuously tested for opens and shorts. The monitor looks for an EGR Vacuum Regulator circuit voltage that is inconsistent with the EGR Vacuum Regulator circuit commanded output state.

SOURCE: location of the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor on a 2001 ford escape

B1 means the sensor is located on the same bank of the engine that has the #1 cylinder. B2 is located on the opposite bank.
S1 means the sensor is located BEFORE the catalytic converter
S2 means the sensor is located AFTER the catalytic converter

You didn't say which engine you have, so I've included the diagrams of both 4 cyl and 6 cyl so you can see the banks

SOURCE: hi, i have a problem

Code P1633 simply means that the Keep Alive Power (KAPWR) circuit to the Engine Control Module has been interrupted. This could be due to a dead battery where you had to jump-start your vehicle or because the battery was disconnected for any reason. If your battery is hooked up and in good condition, the code will clear by itself.

The fuel pressure is low and it wont move the code that it gave me was po1401 what does that mean

CODE P1401 IS SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT. POSSIBLE CAUSES DPFE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT IS OPEN.DPFE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT IS OPEN.DPFE SENSOR SIGNAL IS SHORTED TO VREF 5V. DPFE SENSOR IS DAMAGED OR IT HAS FAILED. PCM HAS FAILED.******* WHEN YOU SEE CODE P1401 FLASHING ********** WHAT IS HAPPENING ENGINE RUNNING AND THE PCM DETECTED THE DPF EGR SENSOR SIGNAL WAS MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM CALIBRATED VALUE OF 4.5 VOLTS. ON THIS VECHICLE APPLICATION THE DPPE EGR VALVE AND EVR SOLENOID ARE INTEGRATED INTO THE ESM ASSEMBLY.

P1401 AND P1311 CODE ON FORD EXPEDITION 2002

P1401 DPFE (Differential Pressure Feedback EGR) circuit high input: This code is in reference to the actual EGR valve monitoring sensor(DPFE). The actual circuit is damaged, thus, producing false negatives. The silicone rubber vacuum lines going to the sensor could also be faulty, as well. I would suggest to inspect the vacuum hoses that run to and from the DPFE sensor. If the hoses are in good shape; Replace the sensor, itself.

You could also check the EGR valve for faults, as well. If you have access to a hand vacuum pump, you can check the EGR passage quite easily with this device. Once you have gathered your pump; Disconnect and plug the vacuum line going to the EGR valve. Connect the vacuum pump to the EGR valve. Start the car and let it idle. Now, apply a simulated vacuum effect with the hand pump to the EGR valve. Your engine should stumble or stall if the passage is open. If it doesn't, the passage is clogged or the diaphragm in the EGR valve is bad. If the passage is open, it's most likely the DPFE sensor.

P1311
Ionization Misfire Detection Module Communication Fault: This code is not a normal ford code. With that said; I would advise to inspect all wiring that is running to the coils on this engine. This code will usually point to a failed coil or coil wire connection. i would also have each coil on this engine tested for their operational value. Check the entire engine harness for pinching or any damage that my be present.

My Check engine light comes on even after the replaced part for code p1401 on a 2001 Ford Ranger. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ed

Ford:DTC P1401 Differential Pressure Feedback EGR Circuit High Input
did you do the pin point testes? a fault code only tell s the sensor signal has a problem, that can be the actual sensor or the connector, or the wiring or the powertrain control module, with this sesor you can also hook the hoses up wrong and excessive exhaust back pressure can cause this as well.

My 2001 E150 4.2L has a high input EGR sensor problem

Check the pipe that feeds the DPFE for cracks, if that's ok, check the Engine's back pressure at the front O2 sensor port. It should have no more than about 1 lb of back pressure max. If it's higher, you may have a faulty cat converter. (they're not cheap) When they go they sometimes plug the muffler with debris.
