Question about 1994 Jeep Cherokee Country

Can't find "Block Heater" plug-in on my 94 Cherokee Country

I've tried several times, without success to find the Block Heater connection that the build sheet and option list both say my 1994 Cherokee Country 4.0L "gas" engine has. I've searched for it all around the air cleaner area where the owner's manual says it's located to no avail.. I might mention this Jeep was made in Canada, so the ideal of a block heater for a gas engine in that cold climate didn't seem so far fetched to me.....
I learned through the 2nd owner (I'm 3rd owner) that the original owner requested specific package and options for this Cherokee that the dealer only found after looking north in Canada...
Before being shipped to U.S. it was refitted with standard speedometer, tach, gauges,etc...
I still retain all paper work from build sheet, U.S. customs, to original owner's purchase...

I get laughed out of repair shops here in Ky. when I mention "engine block heater and gas engine" in the same sentence...
Did the original owner get bamboozled and pay for something he didn't receive?...Should I give up my search for it ???

Hello,
Well the original owner may have got taken. I suggest looking nowhere near the air cleaner for the factorry installed Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Eagle block heaters are mounted on the side of the engine in a freeze plug port. There was an option available for the 4.0L and had a removeable 110 volt plug. You want to look on the side of the engine block and look for a 110 volt cord or a freeze plug with two electrical connectors sticking out. You may have to order the electrical extension cord from the dealer and is VIN specific. You may have to call a wrecking yard or dealer in Canada.
Good Luck.

Where is the block heater cord on a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country Limited?

it should be in front near the grill, was there a block heater installed on this van? if you look at the engine were the freeze plugs go ,if a heater was installed you should see the element in one of the freeze plug holes instead of a freeze plug, if there is one then follow the cord, hope this is helpful, good luck.

94 Jeep Grand Cherokee heater coil has been replaced wont start

If you have a security system, close all the doors and then lock the drivers door with the key, then unlock it. That should re-set the system. I've had the computer completely disconnected from mine several times (used it to check another vehicle) and I don't have security...it started and ran fine...only difference between the two is the security so I'd try that.

It is very hard to turn, but it will come loose, a cut off allen wrench attached to a pipe works great, as there is no clearance to do it any other way. Have at it cause the allen bolt is pretty hefty.

Possible causes for suddenly having no spark on 94 jeep cherokee

There are several reasons this can happen, the most common is that the crankshaft sensor has failed. This should give a code of 11. I recommend that you do a code check, in order to get an idea of what problems may be before doing anything else.
Code check: turn ignition key of and on twice, then the third time leave it in run position. check engine light will falsh. one flash pause, next flash(s), longer pause, then next set of falshes. If just crank sensor you will get firss code of 11, then next set will be 55 (end code)

Leaking connector on heater hose on 1994 4.0L Jeep Cherokee sport

Part you are referring to is your heater control valve. They generally develop small leaks where the actuator arm goes into the assembly. They are generally in the $30 dollar range and can easily be replaced.Don't forget to "top off colant level after repair!
