Replaced air bag,air ride control box in trunk, bag holds air but will not lift L/h side, other 3 bags are good.pump runs and shuts down after 3 min. builds 80 psi,no leaks seen or heard, harness voltage is as it should be.any suggestions what to do next?
Have you checked all air lines, are they all tight & have the orange O-rings on them, this includes the one that goes to the top of the solenoid on the air bag that you're having the problem with, Then you might want to inspect the air bags itself, for leaks and cracks. Don't forget to turnoff the air ride system, the button is in the trunk before you jack up the car. Finally, there is a way to check the system without any special tools, just a jump wire. Let me know if you like to know how to do so.

Hi :-)
I don't know how will this help, but you can check the car in the morning before you start it, look under it and check the level, is it dropped from the front or back. this way you can tell if you have a leak and where. if not then i think its the level sensor. in the 1998 you have two one in the front left. and one near the deferential in the back.
hope this helps you in anyway.
have a nice day.

One other solution that is less costly is to eliminate the air suspension by having a kit installed that uses springs that are specifically engineered to take the place of those costly air suspension parts. The kit will also have instructions to eliminate the light.

There are sensors for each corner. It sounds more like a sensor than a bag because your pump would keep running trying to raise the low corner. Your pump is shuts off.
Now you did not say if the pump will lift the other 3 corners without you having to hot wire the pump. You probably know about the shutoff in your trunk.
You should be able to find used parts in a Salvage yard. You can try Autozone or Oreillys for aftermarket parts. But the dealer and some places can use a diagnostic plug to quickly ID the problem.
Also, Ford and Mercury have Air suspension on Crown Vics and Marquis. The parts would be cheaper than those with a Lincoln badge. We used Crown Vic parts on a Mark 7.
