Question about 1989 Cadillac Sedan DeVille
All my lights work, Hazards are fine. Fuses are not blown. I need HELP.
I am taking a wild guess that your car is old enough to have a turn signal flasher.
It should be under the dashboard where it is almost impossible to see! Here's how to find it:
Find a good flashlight and a little tiny person. :-)
Turn on your 4-way flashers, and look up under the dashboard, to the left of your speedometer. (See why I said a small person?)
The 4-way flasher should be clicking.
Look at the shape and size of that flasher that is making the clicking sound, and you should see another one close to it just like it that is not making any noise.
That should be your regular turn signal flasher, it's probably be ready for a new one.
Usually they plug in.

First do you have a sterring wheel puller. Can't remove the steering wheel without one. Quite an involved job including snaking the electrical connector end through the steering column. I wouldn't recommend it to the novice

Check the hazard switch brother. Thats a know source for this problem. Mess around a bit with it for a temporary fix but replace it at any rate!

You have to pull the air bags, and steering wheel, and disassemble the anti theft plate in the column. This task may be better left to a shop, it is fairly difficult if you know what you are doing, and nearly impossible without the requried pullers....

Check the connection at the battery, the contacts ao the battery should be shiny clean, and the cable ends, then put them back on,it is possible for all the power to be in the battery and suppling voltage to the lights and such, but not the starter. Then check the battery to see if it has the amps, and volts,12 volts. Then the starter could have gone out.If all this checks out,see if there is a fusible link burned into on the starter. Then the ignition switch, and neutral safety switch, all this could be the problem.
