If there is not a dipstick at the top of the compartment it has to be checked at the transmission itself. Sometimes there is a dipstick on the tranny itself and for all others there is two bolts. One on the bottom for drainging and the other on the side for filling and checking.

I hv a 2001pontiac subdirectory an the oil light is comin on an off when I come to a stop r sitting at a light.Every now an the it flash on but go right back off....

Are you trying to say that the oil pressure light is going on and off? If it is you need to have that checked out. A mechanic can put a pressure guage on it and find out whether it is truly low on pressure or its just a sending unit. At least replace the sending unit and see if it goes away. If it truly has low pressure extreme damage to the engine may occur.

What type of transmission fluild do you use for a 2001 sunfire. Having a hardtime putting the car in reverse and then inti park

It uses Dexron II or III (you can use either) If fluid is full, DON'T add! Overfilling will do more damage, Depending on the mileage, I would change trans fluid and filter. It should be changed every 50k
