He does racing Trannies for Molski Racing and used all new HD Parts, But now he's incarserated for a while and isnt available so Im at the mercy of good people like you. Ill try that. is there any special type of fluid? By the way he put a shift kit in it just by shere habbit, (LOL)Needless to say it shifts really solid by the time get doun the street but have to be very gentle to be careful not to make it slip when its real cold and first starting out! If I warm it up for 10 mins it works perfect, (Just trying to give you all the details I can)."Thanks Ned," Im a decent mechanic but Auto Trannys are my weakness. Ill let u know how it works out.

SOURCE: 1st gear slipping at start. reverse and other

Have you checked the trani fluid ?
It could be slipping just enough to notice in 1st gear beause that is the most resistance..
A slip is a slip..
Or it could be that the bands are warn in only first gear - wich would cause damage before long..
Some shops give free estimates..

I have a 2003 Chevrolet suburban when I start it up the transmission shifts smoothly but once I drive about 50 miles or more the tranny starts to slip please help

If the vehicle has more than 90,000 miles on it the transmission should be rebuilt. Chevy used the 4l60E transmission in Suburbans and it is not quite strong enough.A good rebuild will change all clutchs and plates along with the sun gear and cage. Also all electronic modules.I had mine rebuilt at 125,000 and afterwards pu an additional 200,000 on it without any slippage.

'90 Acura legend tranny slipping?

doesn't need a rebuild
try an oil change for the transmission as it indicates dirty oil and sticking balves
should have been changed at the 60000 miles mark or 120,000miles
run fault codes to check for torque converter clutch servo/ solenoid problem

1998 Dodge caravan AWD transmision slips at full throttle

Have you serviced the transmission latley? fluid, filter, band adjustment

Usually under heavy throttle causing the slip is caused by a seal in the pump leaking off hydraulic pressure letting the clutches slip.

Does it slip in all gears or just 1st.?
Does it slip in reverse?
The reason I ask this is because 1st and reverse use different fluid pathways,

also you can take it to a tranny shop and have them check the fluid pressure at the accumlator port to determine what the exact problem is,but my advice is to just drive it easy and make it last as long as you can,a new or rebuild tranny from a dealer would run 2500 or more.

there is a website www.car-part.com that you can use to find a replacement transmission

'00 Toyota 4Runner manual transmission slipping out of first gear

The problem is most likely internal. Sounds like it could be the synchronizer or maybe the gear itself. Hard to say until you take it apart and look at it. I guess a price range of around $1000-$1500 to rebuild, repair costs depend on what parts needed, cost of parts, labor/time involved.
