Condensation on interior of windshield

After a short trip to the grocery store the van was parked outside for about an hour. On returning to the van there was condensation on the interior of the windshield.

Assuming that your heater was in use, it could very well be the beginningstages of your heater core going bad. There are products you can purchase to add to the radiator to prolong the life of the heater core but it has been my experience that while they do work, they are only a short term solution. Try this soon as the core finally rusts completey through you will be dealing with all the engine coolant all over the floor board

if this van has heat in the rear, Id say you have a coolant leak.check antifreeze, and follow hoses back to the rear. look for wet spots on hoses

I have heavy condensation daily inside on my windows in the morning. What causes this? How can I fix it?


It is caused by water vapour in humid warmer air inside the vehicle condensing on the very cold windscreen. As long as the interior glass surface is much colder than the inside air it contacts you will get condensation forming on the inside surface.

2. If you equalise the temperature of the air inside the vehicle with the outside temp for 5 minutes before locking up your car you will minimise condensation, as will garaging it. If you drive around with the heater on full on a freezing cold day, stop the car and lock it up exposed, you are going to get condensation, especially if you have used the recirc control to block the outside air from entering the climate control system in the cabin while driving.

3. If you are having this condensation issue set the air controls on the car (before you turn it off and park it) so that outside air can flow in through the cabin venting system. When you drive around constantly with just interior air circulation and no outside air entering you are going to get a build up of humidity.

Tips for operating Air conditioning system on Toyota Hilux and someother...


To cool off your Toyota after it has been parked in the hot sun, drive with the windows open for a few minutes. This vents the hot air, allowing the air conditioning to cool the interior more quickly.

Make sure the air intake grilles in front of the windshield are not blocked (by leaves or snow, for example).

On humid, do not blow cold air on the windshield. The windshield could fog up because of the difference in air temperature on the inside and outside of the windshield.

Keep the area under the front seats clear to allow air to circulate throughout the vehicle.

On cold days, set the fan speed to high for a minute to help clear the intake ducts of snow or moisture. This can reduce the amount of fogging on the windows.

When driving on dusty roads, close all windows. If dust thrown up b the vehicle is still drawn into the vehicle after closing the windows, it is recommended that the in intake be set to FRESH and the fan speed to any setting except "OFF".

If following another vehicle on a dusty road, or driving in windy and dusty conditions, it is recommended that the air intake be temporarily set to RECIRCULATE, which will close off the outside passage and prevent outside air and dust from entering the vehicle interior.

HEATING

For best results, set controls to;
Fan speed ---- Any setting except "OFF"
Temperature----Towards WARM (red zone)
Air intake ---- FRESH (outside air)
Air flow ---- FLOOR
Air conditioning ---- OFF

For quick heating, select recirculated air for a few minutes. To keep the windows from fogging, select fresh after the vehicle has been warmed.

Press the "A/C" button on for dehumidified heating.

Choose floor/windshield air flow to heat the voltage interior while defrosting or defogging the windshield.

AIR CONDITIONING

For best results, set controls to;

Fan speed --- Any setting except 'OFF"
Temperature --- Towards COLD (blue zone)
Air intake --- (outside air)
Air flow --- PANEL
Air conditioning --- ON

For quick cooling, move the air intake selector to recirculate for a few minutes.

VENTILATION

Circuit/System Description
The body control module (BCM) controls the wiper motor based on input from the windshield wiper washer switch. The BCM monitors the wiper washer switch through three separate signal circuits and a ground circuit. The windshield wiper switch high signal circuit is used to determine high speed wiper operation, the windshield wiper switch low signal is used to determine low speed, intermittent, and mist operation through the use of a resistor ladder, and windshield washer switch signal circuit is used to determine washer operation. The windshield wiper motor park operation is controlled by the BCM. The BCM recieves an input from the park switch to determine wiper blade position. When the wiper blades are at the bottom of the windshield glass in park position the wiper park switch will open and the circuit will be pulled up to B+ by the BCM. The park signal will be pulled to ground by the wiper motor park switch while the wiper blades are not in the park position.
The BCM controls the windshield wiper motor through two output controls, controlling two relays which determine the desired wiper speed, high or low
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
The body control module (BCM) monitors the voltage on the windshield wiper switch signal 2 circuit for diagnostic purposes. If the circuit is shorted to voltage while the driver is commanded OFF, the BCM will store DTC B3715. If the circuit is shorted to ground while the driver is commanded ON, the BCM will store DTC B3715. Refer to DTC B3715.
It would be best to have a factory scan tool to diagnose this problem . it would make it easier anyway .

Wont start when its wet outside, 2000 vw cabrio


Sounds electrical in some way. Check to see if you have any standing water in the cowl just below the windshield under the hood. If so, there is a hole about in the middle, that gets plugged with debrie if you park under a pine tree or something. Most likely near the side is where you ECM is mounted in a sealed box. With standing water, it can leak in from under the box. Make sure this is not your issue. Take a look at the condition of the terminals on your starter. The water can be causing a temorary short to some exposed wires or condensation.

My 1997 Plymouth Voyager mini van 2.4 liter van is leaking the water on the outside of the van in the front passenger side. Can't find the leak. It leaks when I'm parked and when I'm driving.


well it can only come from the radiator hoses or the water pump...

to check if your water pump is still good just take a flashlight and spot on top of the pump. there should be a little hole on top behind the pulley. if it is damp you have to replace the pump.

besides that just check the hoses one at the time

I would think that the wires from the RCW (rock climbing wall) that control the running lights are wired to the interior dash lights of the van, and a fuse blew, killing the above mentioned lights. Check the fuse block for a bad fuse, probably labeled inst lights or inst lgt. Did you make the trip there in daylight, and trip home at night? The fuse for the dash lights couldn't handle the extra drain of the RCW running lights.

Water leak on driver's side - 2000 Mitsubishi Galant


I was a manager at a Mitsubishi dealership.

There was a "secret warranty" on certain Galants where the firewall seam would fair and leak water into the interior. Call your local dealer to see if your vin qualifies. The fix is to simply reseal the firewall crimp seam with silicone sealant.

Alternatively, sunroof equipped cars sometimes get the drain channels clogged in time. Make sure to clean drain holes and use forced air if necessary.

Lastly, some cars have heaters with pollen filters. If those filters become clogged, condensation can accumulate and overflow into the interior.

2003 S80 Unusal Braking Problem


I would check the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster behind the master cylinder. If there is a break in this rubber hose, then the brakes would take alot of effort to push and the engine could possibly increase in idle. Good luck and be safe
