Question about 2005 Jaguar S-Type

1 Answer

Hi ive got a jaguar s type 2.7d and having problem with parking sensors, would you know anything about them?

The parking sensors arnt working proper. There are sensors on front and rear. The fronts dont work any more and when its in reverse there are a constant long beep. Ive replaced the parking aid, and its just the same. There was one sensor on the front not ticking so i replaced that one, now that ticks now, but the system still not working proper. The sensors all tick when in drive fronts and all ticking when in reverse. Ive looked at different sites on the internet for same problem but ive not found anybody with same fault what ive got. Can anybody help out, ive got my mother complaining all the time. Thankyou. Glynn Hughes

Hello
Check the sensors , you still might have bad one in the group which will effect the full function of the sensors.

If sensors are good , then you need to check the position of the sensors and set up correctly as if one of the sensors is out of alignment , it will cause this problem.

If not , the you need to check the electrical wiring for the sensors

You will have to get a factory approved kit . Any modification to the lighting system will interfere with the Bulb faifure warning as the wattages and resistances will be altered outside the normal Jaguar settings. There is designated kits for these types of electrical systems from quality tow bar makers .......

Parking sensors on my 2008 jag x type

Check each sensor for a 'clicking noise' this is the sound of it transmitting. If all are correct make sure all are clean in the small ring that the centre cell sits in (tooth brush and water) If all is okay here then it is likely you have a Module fault or cable / connection problem. Its always worth the time to disconnect and reconnect all parts to check if anything obvious comes to light as you do this.
Good Luck

I have a 2004 X Type Jaguar, The problem is:

Hi.

This is a common issue with the Jaguar X-type and the S-type too.

If you are parked on an incline the vehicle can get stuck in park.

You will need to rock the car back and forth while someone disengages park, so when you park on any type of incline, apply the handbrake first, before you select park.

Hope I have been of help.

Good Luck !

John.
