most likely yes if the seam of the pan is where the leak is coming from ltry finding the highest vertical source start by cleanin the pan and transmission real well run it and check it until the leak is apparent if no higher source can be found then ya it should make sure when installing to tighten bolts in symmetrical pattern for best fit also clean surfaces the gasket will be touching very well check with straitedge as well if able, is it auto or manual?

Leaking transmition fluid

I tend to agree with Scotty89. Having limited to no mechanical experience could coat you a lot more money than having a trained mechanic do the work. They will usually stand behind their work.

Car won't start and gears will not shift into netral

if it is a manual transmition it could be clutch slave cylinder leak , clutch master cylinder leaking , or clutch plate. or you might be lucky and clutch cable needs adjusting tighter.

1991 volvo 240 leaks transmition fluid at a rate of 2 quarts every 50 miles. Is there a seal you can relace or do you need a new transmition?

Check your transmission line's, also look under your car if leaking between engine and transmission more then likely it's going to be your front transmission pump seal, transmission will have to come out to replace front seal.Don't let it run low on transmission fluid or you will have to replace or overhaul your transmission, not cheap.

My 5speed manual has a leak where the drive shaft connects to the transmission. Wondering how easy of a fix is it and how to add transmission oil to make sure it doesn't dry up on on me.

you put the trans fluid into the tube that has the trans dip stick. try putting "No-Leak" for transmitions in the tube. always check the level with the trans warmed up and engin running.

Transmition fluid leak. Fluid pouring of top of transmition.

Sounds like you have a bad line somewhere that is backing up you system. I would start by checking all of them first.
