Can't find turn signal flasher unit

Older vehicles can and often did have the flasher unit almost anywhere - behind the speedo, inside the steering column shroud, under the dashboard, behind the glovebox... Then there was a lengthy period when the fusebox was the logical place to find the electronic relay that often shared duty as the hazard flasher unit.

Lots of modern cars do not have a separate flasher unit but are fitted instead with a single ECU dedicated to controlling all those things on a car needing timing - flashers and hazard flashers, interior lights screenwipers and so forth.

Where is the flasher unit for 1999 mercury mountaineer?

It's the same flasher unit for both turn signals AND emergency flashers. Even though one side works, the other won't. If you have a good fuse for the turn signals, then replace the flasher unit.

Have hazards but no turn signals for 1994 ford econoline 250

Check your flasher units. Because of the load of all signals working under Emergency conditions, there are 2 flasher units.
The basic flasher may be bad and that is why the Emergency flasher still works.

Also try cycling the Emergency flashers about 20 times. Some designs share contacts between the 2 units and the prongs get misplaced which the Emergencies are used.

Turn signal flasher oldsmobile achieva 94 not flashing how do i fix

light goes on but doesn't blink is typical of a bad flasher unit. Flasher units usualy have two wire connections. Flashers can be round or square. Try replacing flasher with another known working flasher unit.

Have four way flashers in front of car but no turn signals on front or rear of car but yet i still have parking lights and brake lights and have replaced the bulbs and the fuses are not bad and the flasher...

The most common cause of your problem is the Flasher Unit. Functioning four way flashers doesn't mean the existing unit is working. Also, there are multiple flasher units on some cars. Since the bulbs are all working, replacing the flasher unit makes the most sense.

Where is the turn signal blinker

Hello jperez661: My name is Roger and I will help you. If you are needing to know where the turn signal flasher is at? The flasher is located under the instrument panel,to the right of the steering column. This will be a round plastic or metal unit mounted by a clip with two wires going to it. The 4 way flasher is located in the convenience center, under the glove box assembly. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer you received. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Grand cherokee 2001 flashers dont work but hazards do...v odd??

The hazards and the flashers are on seperate circuits. When the flashers are working properly you will hear a clicking during operation. If not, check all the bulbs. If both flashers don't work it may be a blown fuse, faulty flasher unit or a loose wire or connection.Probably the flasher unit.Make sure the new one is the same as the old one by comparing the two,On yours, its a combination flasher and hazard unit.It will need to be replaced.its small and cost is minimal. When you do replace the unit, disconnect the neg. cable from the battery. The unit relay may be blue in color.Hope this helps
