Your timing chain tensioner is loose, or broken. Its not good to run the truck like that. If the timing chain is sloppy, the motor is not in rythum spark plugs ignite when the are not supposed too etc. Good luck, if your changing it yourself, I can walk you through the proceedure

SOURCE: cavilier turns over, has spark, timming chain is

What your saying, is the fuel pump doesn't work or your having other issues? Did you put a fuel pressure gauge on it?
You know you have spark and no timming issues, because you did ,what kind of testing to determine that.?

Timming chain problems

I don't know what "timming" or "minic" means, but (from context) I'm assuming you think that you are having some kind of a a TIMING chain problem.
The timing chain simply goes around the crank shaft sprocket and around the cam gear, turning the cam shaft. If it is in place, your vehicle will run. If it breaks, the vehicle will not run. If it is loose, your vehicle may run rough, but there will be an obvious rattling noise coming out of the timing chain cover at the front of the engine, as it moves the tensioner aroundr.
That's about it for a timing chain. There is nothing else to it.
Hope that answers your question!

What would cause 4.6 engine just stopped firing while driving

Items to cause this include immobiliser, heavy objects swinging on the ignition key, cam/crank position sensor, broken timing belt/chain. Check that the cam shaft is turning. Check for loose / dirty battery terminals that allow the circuit from the battery to be broken intermittently.

Ecu problem

Check for ground wire off. Have seen this many times after repairs. Things work for awhile but never quite the way they should.

My 97 grand cherokee cranks but wont start i got fuel pressure and i sprayed starting fluid and changed the cps and still wont start looking for any and all solutions

Did it act like it wanted to start when you did that? You say cps but truthfully that don\'t tell me if its crank or cam? It should have a real distributor and you should check fire from there. Look at and check cap, rotor, and wires and make sure they are on correct If you still have no fire then replace ign coil.... Now.. if it was tring to crank when you sprayed it then listen on how it cranks. If it turns over slow, fast or if it sounds retarded. If any of those occur then check timing and all its componets. Make sure the fire you checking is good spark.. blue or red or both just as long as its fire. If you\'ve replaced the coil and still no fire then prolly gone be a timing chain broken but most of the time engine will turn over a lot faster in this factor. If you\'ve check chain and its good, then a broken cam or crankshaft is obvious. Now... you can dig deep into the whole checking voltage and computer if you like... but my personal experience is this problem has never been PCM or ECM

One other thing you should check judging it being a 1993. Check the fuel pump pressure for adequate fuel supply to all those new components. If you don't get the correct pressure you will experience back firing and inconsistency in your engine performance.

Got 1988 buick park wouldnt start, hooked

You may have damaged the starter when the engine kicked back.

The ignition module may have been defective.....but change the crank pickup too.........more likely it is the cause of the problems.

Change the crank pickup at every tune has a high failure rate.

If your engine has 250km or 150K miles you may need a chain soon.
