2003 Kia optima 4 cylinder turns over but doesn't start

I've narrowed it down to two possible problems camshaft sensor or the crank sensor but i'dont know how i can test either to find out wich one is the one with the problem. There is current.

I have the same issue, and the code reader said crankshaft position sensor. I would like to have a schematic of where the location of this sensor is, so I can install this myself. Shucks has it for $120.99 thanks.

2003 Kia optima run good til turn off and now won't start. Cranked and cranked til the starter made high pitch crank sound like it wasn't getting pressure. Noticed the surpintine turned but not timing

sounds like you need to replace the timing belt and possibly need to have the cylinder head repaired if it bent the valves, put the belt first and if it doesn't have compression then you'll need to have the head repaired

05 Kia cranks **** don't start has fuel and fire

Start here: Sounds like you have a Crank or Cam Sensor Failure; Check for any Stored Diagnostic Codes
General Description
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMPS) is a sensor that detects the compression TDC of the No. 1 cylinder. The CMPS consists of a hall type sensor and a target on the end of the intake camshaft. When the target triggers the sensor, the sensor voltage is 5V. If not, the sensor voltage is 0V. These CMPS signal is sent to the ECM and the ECM uIf the CMP-Sensor does not operate correctly, correct sequential injection is not made so that the engine may stall or run irregularly at idle or fail to accelerate normally.
ses the CMPS signal for synchronizing the firing of sequential fuel injectors.

DTC Description
If the output voltage of CMPS remains low when the change of CKPS output voltage is zero, the ECM determines that a fault exists and a DTC is stored.

Testing and Inspection The CMP sensor senses the camshaft position sensor on compression stroke of the No.1 and No.4 cylinders, converts it into a pulse signal, and inputs it to the ECM. The ECM then computes the fuel injection sequence, etc. based on the input signal.

IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE TIMING BELT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE 60K ON THE VEHICLE IF YOU HAVE A 4 CYLINDER THEY HAVE A CYLINDER BALANCER BELT AND THEY COME APART AND GET LODGED AGAINST THE CRANK SENSOR IF THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU DO THE CRANK SENSOR WITH THE CYLINDER BALANCER BELT AND THE TIMING BELT AND TENSIONER HAVE SEEN THIS MANY TIMES THIS USALLY HAPPENS BEFORE THE BELT GOES OR BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT AT ALL
