Is the blower motor working? If not that is what it is. If it is working then check heater coil out, Could be bad heater coil.

yes. the impellor on these engines have a tendency to come off the water pump.First you can see if the pump is working by removing a heater hose then have someone to start the engine. if the water sprays a good, solid stream out then the water pump is good. if the water just barely comes out or not at all then the pump is weak or "bad".

I have 1997 Ford Taurus I put a these itims are new Water Pump, Radaitor, pressure cap, Thermostat, sensor, tested for cracked head and gasket that was good> But still gets hot

check that you put the thermostat in the right way. Body into the water and not the hose. Check that the fan circuit is operational with the fuses and relays operating normally. If it is an auto check the temperature of the transmission oil as it is cooled by the radiator and that will make the car run hot if the oil is over heating from a transmission fault.

Change the sensor. Check the electric cooling fans and Relays. Some fans have 2 speeds and may not kick into high speed.
The radiator operates more or less closely to the block temperature. A Laser thermometer would tell you what the operating temperature is.

Where is the coolant bleeder on a 1998 ford taurus 3.0 engine

You can bleed the system of air by removing the radiator cap while the engine is cold. Turn the heater on high and let the vehicle run until it reaches operating temperature. The thermostat will open several times and purge the system of air. Feel the top radiator hose occasionally until it heats up. Don't forget to replace the radiator cap.

OK i have a 92 ford Taurus it is having a over heating problem i have changed the thermostat twice in two weeks its blowing cold air when i turn the heat on so what do i do????

Dd you check for a leak? did you know if the inside heater cooling panel it is connected to the cooling syst. (it seems like be damaged).
In other order the over heating problem could become from bad signal from cooling sensor located closer to the thermostat, did you changed? this sensor sends signal to the computer to starts the cooling fan located at radiator avoiding over heating problems!

My guess is that your electric fan is not engaging all the time for the cooling system. The electric fan is thermostatically operated by the temperature of the engine coolant. These sensors go bad intermittently and then you have the problem you describe. You need to replace the sensor that operates your electric fan. It should be located somewhere on the radiator tanks probably at the bottom of the radiator. Do not wait to replace the sensor that controls the fan. It will eventually quit working all together and you will be sitting on the side of the road somewhere.

What are the possible problems if my 1999 Ford Taurus' engine begins to overheat after running after five minutes?

Could be low on coolant, or a sticking thermostat, radiator fan not coming on, check for voltage there, if there no voltage possible coolant temp. sensor, relay or fuse, if there is voltage there, bad elec. fan motor.

Overheating/fan not running

If the cooling fans do come on, replace the radiator. It has probably plugged with deposits from coolant that has not been changed every 2 years as recommended. Radiators.com has real good (low) prices and excellent quality all metal radiators--do not get 'plastic tank' unit.

IF the fans are not turning on, it is either the temperature sensor for the cooling fans, the relay, the fuse, or the fan motor-or a loose connection in those circuits.

Ford Taurus 1996, coolant comes out throughout the cap every time when car stops

You will overheat the engine if losing coolant.Firstly replace the cap with a new one,Is the engine temperature normal when you stop ? If its over temperature it will still blow out coolant. Check the radiator for blockage of the tubes & ensure the fan belts and water pump are in good order. Worst case is a blown head gasket can test for combustion gases in the coolant
