SOURCE: My front defroster doesn't work

Their is a vacuum actuated valve that redirects the flow of air from the panel to the defrost vents when the defrost is selected. I would check the vacuum line running to the valve while the vehicle is running with the defroster on and check whether or not the line is pulling a vacuum to actuate the valve, if not you obviously have a bad line or vacuum line fitting. If you have suction on the vacuum you will need to check the valve and see that is functioning properly. The valve is usually located under the dash on the passengers side. If you are mechanically inclined i would go to a local auto part store and pick up a repair manual for your car for about $20 as they contain diagrams and info that will save you alot of money.

check the fuses in the car under the dash on driver side ,only other thing it could be is the power wire in the driver door jam could have a broken ground that is one way it would affect all the windows.

I have a 2009 lincoln town car, past 2 weeks when it rains my windows fogs up, sometimes it clear but comes back again. No smell.. what should I do?

Its normal for your windows to fog in rainy weather. If you defroster won't clear it up, then your heater core is leaking, which will just make more moisture on your windows due to the steam. Feel around the passenger side floorboard and see if its wet, and check your coolent lvl to see if its starting to get low.. odd tho, usually you will smell the sweet smell of antifreeze, but maybe its just starting to leak and its not really pouring out YET.. Warning, as time goes by, leak will get worse.

My 2002 explorer windows keep fogging up inside and does not go away when turn on defrost & my engine light is on like my heater core may be bad but I dont smell antifreeze what else could cause t

If it was me, the first thing I'd do is go check my fluid level in my radiator. I'd add fresh anti-freeze, if I hadn't done so in a year or more. Your defrosters won't work properly if you are too low on fluids in your radiator, OR your thermostat is malfunctioning. Replacing your thermostat might be a good job for a mechanic. Good luck.

Why do my windows fog inside on 2002 ford taurus

If your climate control is on recirculate, eventually the window will fog on any vehicle. I recommend placing the HVAC system on fresh air and run the ac if possible. If you want a more in depth answer, see my article and video on fogged car windows. Let me know if that helps Savic.

Should the AC compressor clutch engage when the

yes. the ac removes moisture from the cabin of your car. if it is not engaging that is why your windows are fogging up. you need to have the ac pressure checked. you may just need a recharge.

Windows fog up an there is no sign of the heater core leaking

You kind of answered your own question, don't ya think?Run your fingers thru that fog on the window, does it feel greasy? If it is you probably have some form of coolant leak in the heater core housing.Take off the kick panel on the passenger side, put a bag or drop cloths down first!Check the foam that's used for sound dampening on that kick panel. Is it wet?Use a clean white cloth to dab at the liquid, what color is the fluid? The white rag will show you, clear it's water(leak at the windshield or housing).Green,coolant.I sure hope this helps, take care!

You may have a heater core leak in the passenger compartment. It will add moisture to your inside and do just what you describe.

Replace the engine thermostat, it is probably stuck open.

It is located where the top radiator hose enters the engine block and is supposed to close when the engine is cold, thus prevent coolant from going to the radiator while the engine is heating up.

At engine operating temperature, it opens up, sends the coolant to the rad, and keeps the engine coolant at that constant temperature.

99% of the time, this is the culprit.

The other 1% could be a clogged/partially clogged heater core, or a busted heater core (accompanied by a coolant leak/loss over time) which fogs up the windows even more when the heater is on defrost.

Thermostat replacement is an easy, quick job and cheap.

Heater core replacement is a little bit more time/money consuming
