RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR GAS TANK , IF YOUR BEHIND YOUR CAR LOOKING AT YOUR TANK, GO UNDERNEATH IT WILL BE LOCATED CLOSE TO THE CENTER OF REAR WHEELS.
IN FRONT OF THE TANK.
Hello, 2004 Mercury Mountaineer fuel filter is located in front and on top of
fuel tank behind two shields. This is for 4.0L 2 wheel drive. When you
look just behind the front passenger side tire you will see the first
shield. Behind that is the second.
Hi,
The fuel filter is located at the entry of the gasoline tank. It filters fuel that is incoming. If you notice, unlike other cars where you can siphon fuel from the tank outside, you cannot in this bmw model because the fuel filter will block the siphoning tube. It is located just below the cover and entry into the fuel tank.
Thanks,
Hi.
The fuel filter is located behind the front left wheel.
To replace the filter you will need to take off the front left wheel and then to undo the panel behind the wheel, removing few screws. There you will find the fuel filter. Regards.
The fuel filter (2) is located under the rear of the car, behind the fuel tank. There is no service interval for fuel filter replacement. Replacement is required only if the fuel filter becomes restricted.
In the 2000 Impala, there is a small filter located in the driver's rear quarter panel that is supposed to permit some air to move to adn from the fuel tank to account for expansion and contraction of the fuel, and provide a path for the displaced air while fueling. When this filter gets clogged, the air cannot vacate the tank during fueling, and the pressure causes the pump to click off.
To find it, underneath the vehicle, trace a hose from the top of the tank to the space on the driver's side behind the rear wheel. It will be a small plastic black box about 1" x 3' x 3'. Carefully remove, and open it, and the filter may be replaced or cleaned depending on your budget.
I have seen this on an Impala and a Cavalier, the part is identical.
I hate to correct you Guru but on a 89 xj6 the fuel pump is located between the fuel tank and filter under the car. right above rearend. Its a littler hard to see but a easy fix
