Question about 2003 Kia Optima
My 2003 Kia Optima overheats when I have the headlights on and stop for a light or am in traffic. The thermostat has been changed twice and it did not solve the problem When the gage gets almost in the red zone, I can shut the car off and restart it right away and it is back to normal, but will heat up when I stop again. Only is happpening when the headlights are on. Problem first happened when the air conditioner was on but not always.
When your car is running you should have your head engine checked for temperatures over 200F. If its not over 200 then its not over heating and you'll have to get your gage fixed. Make sure its not over heating because you can damage your head and that's going to cost you an arm and a leg. Make sure when you get it fix that they place your thermostat back that way its working properly with your emission control.
