Did you pull off battery cables without saving memory from computer chip, you just lost the whole memory from the microprocessor chip. It shuts down because it doesn't have any command memory that tells the sensors for the fuel pump, fuel injectors, and all sensors that are suppose to be running normally are receiving a " miss firing " command from the microprocessor, so when you start up your car it will shut down from the command from the on board computer(fuel pump, fuel injectors, timing ratio) that all work on SENSORS from each different modules in your ford. You have to find a OBD 1or 2 engine analyzer to restore your "BACK TO LIFE" memory codes to get the car back online and probably will have to run your car 3x from 0 to 60 on the freeway no braking stops, so your computer can remember the "BACK TO LIFE" memory and restore the car to normal conditions. Go to ford website and look under TROUBLE SHOOTING. That's it my friend!!!!!! ALOHA

Battery wont stay charged

first charge battery or jump start. then remove negative battery cable. If the engine dies, you need an alternator. if not, shut off car, hook a test light between the negative cable and the battery negative post (with cable disconnected) if it lights, then you have a short draining the battery. make sure the doors are closed and lights are off while doing this, otherwise you could get a false reading. If the battery is original, it may just be bad. Walmart or auto zone can test the battery for you

TUrn off your vehicle; first I suggest check in the fuse panel what fuse is causing this problem, if the fuses ar ok, then you will need to take off the entire fuse panel to check harnesses connections and wires attached there.

Keep in mind that, if you stay driving or testing in a ON condition, cpould damage other components, systems or devices.

Hope this helps.

I have an 2003 ford expedition that just stopped . i first changed fuel filter, fuel pump, cleaned injectors, changed filters, spark plugs, cleaned throtle, then had it checked further and tjhe mechanic...

Probably the inertia switch for the fuel pump..You owners manual should show you where its located..See if the button has pop up ..If it has push it back down until it clicks..If it wont stay down then hold it down and see if it will start..If it does you will have to replace it..If thats all good then check the relay for the fuel pump..
