Question about 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

1 Answer

No heat at all

We have 2002 avalanche and there is no heat that comes from any of the vents. The temp guage works and the hoses that run from the motor into the firewall are hot but no matter what setting you turn your dial to no heat comes from any vent. I have the same problem with my 98 ford 150. Can anyone help, what should i be looking for. Thank you

I would check that the vacuum lines are connected. Then check that the cable is moving the heater core door.

The temp guage stays on cold and no heat

Thermostat is stuck in the OPEN position. Replacing it is the solution.. New thermostat is about $10 plus labor and new anti-freeze. Should run you less than $100 at a REPUTABLE shop.

The temperature gauge on my 2002 grand prix dose

the temperature sending unit on a 97 grand prix 3800 gt(which is also the coolant temperature sensor) is not accurate. the sending unit part of this sensor only sends info to the guage on the dash. the coolant sensor part sends info to the computer of the car. it is located under thermostat and somewhat difficult to get at. i had put a brand new one in and my temperature on my dash is all over the place---even with good thermostat and properly bled system. when i hook up a scanner to my computer, the coolant sensor is sending the computer(ecu??) what seems to be the right temp. anywhere from 194 degrees to 217 when hot. the guage however on dash go from 160 to 260 in less than 2 minutes.

My 2002 Avalanche 1500 4WD is not blowing hot air from the heater. The heater hoses are hot but I am only getting cool air. What should I check to see what the problem is?

Gas. Haven't dropped any pencils down the defroster vents have you? Sounds like a mixing door in the heat/ac box is not moving. Could be the motor to the door or a lack of vacumn to the controls. Make sure your canister under the hood is hooked up(probably is since you did not mention having defrost air only). If it has a cable instead of vacumn control for temp, verify it is connected and operating properly. TJ

I cant get the drop the fuel tank on my 2002 chev avalanche

There are to straps and the filler hose and the vent hose and a wiring harness. You may have to lower the rear first. Also that model may have the EVAP canister mounted to the tank.

Van heating up and then cooling off?

sounds like your low in coolant. this will cause an air pocket in engine and cause erratic temp readings/loss of heat check coolant in radiator when cold. and add

ck the coolant level, if low, top off and ck for leaks. then see if the heat comes back. if coolant level is good and engine temp guage is in the middle, flush heater core. if engine temp is too low, replace thermostat.
