Which way do the headlight vertical adjustments turn to raise the beam?

Turn on your headlights and locate the two adjustment holes that have the adjustment screws inside them on the sides of each headlight. The top hole has the vertical adjustment screw and the bottom hole has the horizontal adjustment screw. Turn the vertical screw clockwise to raise the beam and counterclockwise to lower; turn the horizontal screw clockwise to move the beam right and counterclockwise to move the beam left.

How do you adjust a 1994 Jeep grand cherokee laradeo headlights?

There are two adjustment screws at the top of each headlight. They are visible when the hood is up. Use an Allen wrench (hex) of the proper size to turn one screw to adjust the height and the other for lateral adjustment.
It is best to position the vehicle on a level surface a facing a wall or garage door. The vehicle can be about 8 feet from the wall during adjustment.
Adjust the light left/right and up/down with those adjustment screws. The head lights should point somewhat straight ahead at the same height as the headlight itself and the same distance apart.
After adjustment, park the car on the street at night, turn light son and stand about 50 feet form the vehicle to see if either light (low beams) seem too high. It would appear brighter if it is too high, dimmer if it is too low.

How do i install the headlight assembly

REMOVAL
  1. Grasp lower edge of headlamp lens and pull straight back (away) from grille opening reinforcement (GOR) Disengage lower adjuster pivots rom lens assembly.
  2. Grasp upper edge of headlamp lens. Pull straight back (away) from grille opening reinforcement (GOR) Disengage upper adjuster pivot from lens assembly.
  3. Rotate bulb lock ring counterclockwise. and remove ring and bulb from lens.
INSTALLATION
  1. Replace by seating the assembly in the lamp housing and turning the lock ring 1/8 turn clockwise to secure.
  2. Align upper adjust pivot into headlamp opening and snap into place.
  3. Snap lower adjuster pivots into place.
They are held in with 2 ball-in-sockets that pop in and out.
I don't think you can grab the headlights well enough to pull them out, so open the hood, turn the two vertical adjustment screws until the horizontal threaded rods (which connect to opposite corners on the back of the headlight housing) push the headlight all the way out. Then carefully (with pliers or maybe just by hand) pull out the rods from the sockets.

Hi, i have no idea if this will help you or not, but, on the 1997 grand cherokee, if you look at the headlight itself, look to the outer edge, over the top ontop of the headlight there is a white allen key hole, not sure on the size, this, basically is the up and down adjuster for the headlight, sorry if it doesn't help but i've just had to adjust mine, and thats where it is, the one towards the radiator is the in and out, it pushes or pulls the headlight offcentre

Headlight adjustment screws

They will probably be inset adjacent to the headlight. You'll find a horizontal and a vertical adjusting screw, with small springs behind them. Some cars come equipped with a small level (like a carpenter's level) attached to the top of the headlight under the hood to help you get the correct adjustment.

How do I adjust the aim of the headlights?

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

The lenses themselves cannot be adjusted to conform between left hand and right hand drive. The reflector or projector of a left hand drive vehicle is designed to throw more light towards the right side of the vehicle and vice versa for right hand drive vehicles.
