Question about 2003 Mercury Sable
My was is motion when I lost acceleration, and my car started to coast. The car will not engage into any gear, yet I can move my shifter flawlessly as if nothing even took place. I have checked the fluid levels, and it is not bunt, nor has the smell of being burnt, yet it stays at a rather high level on the dipstick, as if it were still hot, yet the car has been sitting for 3 days now. That may be due it still being in gear possibly, but I'm not for sure. Any amount of help in this situation would be great, considering that this vehicle is my only means of transportation. Thanks!
I have a 2003 Mercury Sable as well - my transmission went out with only 52,000 miles. I checked with Ford company and they do not have any recalls on the transmission, however I think it odd that you had the same problem with the same model with in the past 6 months.

Two transmissions in my 2003 sable in 2 years. This is getting old. Anyone know if there is any recourse against ford for this? Can I get reimbursed? It's obviously a design flaw.
