Question about 1996 Nissan Altima
Keeps stalling and and after cranking at it it would take some time to re start again. boyfriend went through whole car. the fuel pump is pumping. did check engine and it said crank shaft/ cam shaft sensor. replaced that. Looking to not replace stupid foreign parts when they dont even need to be repalced. could it be fuel pressure regulator?!?! took freaking forever to get it out and praying that will solve the problem.

switch on your car but don't start it, let it stay in that position for a few minutes. after start your car, if starts without problems then your problem is your fuel pump. but if problem is still there then it could be your fuel filter or timing of your car.

Are you sure the head gasket is ok? There's alot of things unanswered here so I can only go so far. Yes I am a certified nissan tech, but without some more info, dunno. Timing belt ok? If that went, there's the problem, plus I believe it's an interference engine, meaning the valves are now bent & the head might be shot as well.

On the fuel rail at the injectors is a bleeder valve that looks somewhat like a tire valve. Have someone turn it over while you push this down. It is possible that you have air in the line and that is what is causing it to not want to crank up. Another way to check if it is something in the fuel rail, spray ether into the intake while someone is turning it over. If it cranks you have spark and no fuel or not enough fuel.
