I have a 95 Chevy Blazer, there is this really loud clicking noise when I accelerate from a stop or too quickly when I'm driving or when I turn to quickly and even occasionally when I am braking and I'm almost stopped and I brake too quickly. I was thinking it was the CVs but one mechanic I've been to said it wasnt and they gave it a drive and visual inspection and couldnt come up with an answer for me. Its almost as if something is slipping becasue it only happens when there is quick acceleration, but its quite audible, I know pedestrians and other cars can hear it :( . Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks! :)
That clicking noise could be a rod bearing starting to go. I had the same issue and the fuel injection system leaked into the engine oil below, thinned out the oil and I threw the main bearing and 3 rod bearings. Feeling really stupid as I have now changed the engine out and have a problem with electronics. Anyway, check your engine oil for metal shavings and rub it between your fingers. If there is a silvery cast to it inspect the inside of the fuel delivery system. If the nylon hoses are leaking and the inside of it looks wet or looks like there is gas leaking, I'd change the spider injection system. Autozone sells the kit for $275. It aint cheap but cheaper than a new or used engine. I'm up to $800 already and still having bugs to work out. My car had that same ticking noise and by the time I found out what was causing it, it was to late. Wish I would have known... Good luck
The noise was the starter. the teeth was touching the fly wheel some times

97 landrover discovery- same problem- clicking noise when accelerating
the same jolting click from accelerating in my 92 camaro its just from take off and its only once.. could it be my u joint????
i have as blazer 2000 and it make the same random clicking sounds like bb's or nut folling around somewhere and i had my transmission rebuilt and it is still doing it. the automtive tech said it was motor mounts and the pip is hitting the frame but it does it in neutral with no torqe. it is random it clicks when i take off and when i stop and set there sometimes. i thank it is in the oil pan like a plate the sometimes put in there
try this: leave the truck in neutral and lift the back tires off of the ground, give yourself enough room to get under it and use jack stands. go under it after the front tires have been blocked, and turn the rear drive shaft a few times, going both directions. what you want to feel for is a spot where the drive shaft doesn't seem like it's grabbing in the rear end. I've seen a few of these blazers have broken teeth in the diff. that causes the sound you describe. It might not be your problem, but it's worth a look. Just make sure you turn the driveshaft several full rotations in each direction.
