yes except fuel filter, am thinking maybe the mass air sensor which is a remanufactored may be bad

thanks for the info will try this weekend, if no luck will probably take it to the shop

Try putting a new fuel filter on. also a cap and rotor too. the way you describe this leads me to think it's a simple problem. the store you got the sensor from will likely have you try other solutions like this before they let you exchange the sensor anyway

Have you done a tune up on it (spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter)?

As a factory Nissan trained Technician with dealership experience - it can be many things, but it sounds alot like a mis-adjusted or faulty TPS, and/or a faulty IAC(Idle air control) valve - I'd try the TPS and set to appx. .50 vdc (.47/.49) Volts DC and if that isn't it, I'd definitely look to the idle air control valve ( allows for air bypass - sometimes called bypass air control valve). May then need base timing and idle set at shop with OBDII ignition disabling option, for seting timing and idle, otherwise computer won't allow proper setting...then if connector to IAC is OK - should be just fine...

The engine loses power and keeps stalling. I have had three different diagnoses. One mechanic says the air flow sensor needs changing, another says the distributor needs changing, a third mechanic says the...

After it stalls check to see if you have fuel pressure. I've seen fuel pumps run for a while and then just quit, when they cool off they work again. If the pressure is good then check your ignition componets or have a friend crank the engine over while you check for spark. If your ignition componets check out ok it could be the ecm (computer). I have a local 'pull-a-part' salvage yard where I can get computers for $10 bucks. Sometimes $10 can save a lot of headaches. I don't see how the mass air flow sensor or distributor would produce these symptoms.

When the MAF on most vehicles reach a point of preventing the engine from starting, you can usually just unplug it and the engine will start. If that doesn't work-
You may want to try having the O2 sensor, ( Oxygen sensor ), checked. It works with other components of the emission system and can cause similar symptoms as the MAF, including preventing the engine from starting.

Can I clean out the catalytic converter on my 93

These have to be replaced. Clean the intake/throttle area, and a new set of plugs. See if that helps, it sounds like one of the plugs don't have a great spark to fire off when you accelerate.

1997 nissan pathfinder shuts off right after starting

There is a relay on the rh passenger side kick panel above the automatic transmission module that is controlled by the ECU through the MAF sensor that controls your fuel to the engine so the air / fuel mixture is correct. I fixed a pathfinder one time with a similar stalling problem.
