Question about 2002 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

Floor vent problem

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra SLE pickup. The floor vents have stopped opening up so there is no air going to the floor. I had a 1999 Chevy pickup that did the same thing. With both trucks the a/c indicator light went out then the recirculate air light went out. After these things happened, the floor vents stopped working when the knob was turned. With this happening, do you think it is the whole climate control assembly or a motor to the floor vent has gone out. With both trucks having the same symptoms, I am leaning toward the control. Please help before I have to spend a lot of cash eliminating faults.

I have a 2002 gmc 1500 sierra problem is my ac is only coming out of the defroster and the lower floor vents even when I have the control unit setting on the foward vents on the dash. What could be causing...

Under the dash is the center is a actuator motor attached to the heat and ac ducts that control where the air is directed be sure it is working, sounds as if it is not, You can replace the motor yourself if it is needed. If memory serves me correctly the motor just screws into the duct work and has an arm on it to move the door. Hope this helps.

Cannot getr air to come throw the dash vents

Usually a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.

99 GMC Sierra 4.8 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive new body style ac does not blow cold air from the front vents on the dash? Still get some cold air from bottom by floor vents,

if both vents are blowing air in general then you may need to get your air conditioner recharged, but if the front vents aren't blowing at all then you may just have a jammed vent flap and you can fix that from under the hood next to the blower motor. check you rowners maual for the exact location

I have 2006 GMC Sierra SLE 4WD 5.3 liter and my engine light comes on giving me the code PO449 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/ Solenoid Circuit Malfuction. What could cause this code to...

There is a solenoid that open and closes with 12 volts, usually located close to the fuel filler tube area. This open to allow you to fill your tank, then closes after some inputs for the computer are satisfied, and then a pressure sensor verifies the system is working. First, make sure the cgas cap is tight, and if the light doesn't go away in a couple days of normal driving, get the solenoid checked.

A/C not blowing thru vents just defroster and floor

It is a vent door actuator motor on top of the blower box,the dash has to be removed and set in the seats to replace the actuator motor.Cost for the part is about 50.00 dollars

2002 gmc sierra blows Hot air thru ac vent on drivers side. Whats going on? Setings are set for cold air and we are getting cold air thru vents on passenger side.

We have this fairly often on our gm fleet with dual air controls. Replace the actuator and you will be good again (for a while!)
