TYPICALLY this could be because the air bags are leaking and caused your compressor to overwork itself to death. The airbags are not designed to withstand temperatures below 40 degrees and above 94 degrees. Can you believe that!?!? Dry rot starts forming on the inside fold of the bag making it very difficult to detect with the soapy water test. Anyways.. i went through all these problems and several hundred dollars before I finally decided to convert to a passive coil spring system. I got it from Strutmasters.com with a lifetime warranty. http://www.strutmasters.com/mercedes-s-500-suspension-s/112.htm I have been riding on them for about 8 months now and am very pleased so far! I actually now PREFER the coil spring ride to the air ride and was surprised at just how comfortable the ride was. Hopefully you won't have to go through as much money and heartache as I did before I went for a more permanent solution. By the way, my shop only charged me an hour per wheel to install the kit so it was pretty cheap on labor too!!!!
