I put the pipe back on, but when i drove of' everything was ok for a short time. then the thick smoke started comeing out the back, and the turbo excellaration stoped again. i then stoped and looked at the engine, and the pipe was of. i just do not no the name of this pipe. so i then can look and see how mutch it will be. i no this is the problem with the jeep. but one thing i donot no is, is this pipe supposed to be split into two separate part's. my jeep is a grand cherokee manual 5 door 2.5l turbodiesel 1997 model.
If the hose runs from the turbo housing to the intercooler or the inlet manifold it is a turbo hose
It is one piece between turbo and intercooler or inlet manifold
it suffers from heat problems so is a special silicon materila ( normally blue) and will regiure special hosw clamps to keep it on the metal fittings

I had a skim module go out in mine in the ignition, and I have a 2001. It's a 100 part, and now it starts fine.

I would think this will be a blown turbo.
These are fed by a small oil pipe and if the unit overheats (due to wear) - this oil fill feed directly into either the inlet manifold - or the outlet - exhaust.
If it is spilling oil into the hot exhaust - you will get a thick white fog. You can confirm this by placing a clear glass bottle or jar in the exhaust stream - and see if it gets a thick coating of oil on it. If it evaporates - it's water, if not - or feels oily - new turbo or overhaul.
Best get is sortd sooner rather than later - as you may be able to save most of it for an overhaul rather than scrap it if badly worn.

It is most likely your head gasket. Check for antifreeze in your oil and oil in your antifreeze. Or it could also be your intake gasket. Whatever you do. DO NOT put any kind of products like that into your motor. Those are strictly last resort options. Take the Jeep to a garage for an estimate and repairs. Only add those products if you are planning on changing the whole motor out for a new one!

So this engine is a turbo? Where is the pipe located? Is it on the turbo? It could be the EGR pipe from the exaust manifold or the hose the the wastegate on the turbo? Or is it the intake pipe for the turbo? I need a lil more info.
