If it runs rough and shakes hard, look at the plugs and ignition system for issues.. also check each cylinder for proper fire and compression..any one of these issues affect the way the engine runs..a blown head gasket or casting will allow overheating easily..repost findings please..

You might have a broken motor mount or ****** mount,as for the overheating you might need a new thermostat or water pump, but check your antifreeze first to make sure its strong enough for this time of year

Ran out of gas put 2 gallons in pump made weird sound now wont start

You will now need a fuel pump. When a pump runs dry when it is on it's last legs, it will burn out. Replace the pump, it was no doubt due, you just gave it a little kick. It may be better this way, than getting stuck somewhere on a trip out of town.

Overheats ive tried the obvious solutions and it still overheats any suggestions

note if it overheats on the freeway or in city driving. If it overheats soon after you leave the house then in has to be the thermostat. If it overheats at city driving where there are lots of stop and go driving or while you are parked with the motor running, then check the radiator fan function properly. If it takes a while to overheat and tend to do it when driving on the freeway, it is a clogged/dirty radiator. If it looses coolant due to a leak, then it will also overheat. The least likely cause which don't even pertain to newer car is a retarted timing. A retarted timing causes a car to loose noticable loose of power accompanied by overheating. A retartded timing is usually common in older car where timing is adjustable by turning the distributor. Your car is exempt from this.

I have a honda civic ESI model 93. it overheats when i go on a long trip. what could be the problem? had the radiator checked already. a car mechanic is here right now and he changed the cylinder head...

is your antifreeze level dropping lower on local small trips
pressure test the antifreeze system to make sure there is no hose leaking
i hope u used a new thermostat because they sometimes get stuck open

My radiator randomnly overheats. i drive it for a week and it's fine then one day it overheats. the next week it's fine again...

you may have a thermostat going bad, water pump getting weak, or air trapped in the system somewhere. Try to see if there is one or more things that seem to always be present when this happens: sitting still, running air, short trips, long trips etc.
