Question about 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier
Check engine light has just started coming on, after the car has been running and driving for awhile, but does not stay on when I shut the car off and restart it. I have checked fluids and everything seems fine and I dont notice a difference in dirving from when the light is on or off, aside from maybe the slightest bit of power lose on the highway but that may be me just trying to find something because my b/f says he doesnt notice a difference. What could be causing this? I do know I need an oil change and the engine fan does not work, but the thermostat has never gone over half and I am careful not to drive for extended periods and keep the heat cranked to disperse some of the heat from the engine. there has also been no problems with the car smoking, could the fan be causing this, possibly getting too hot? Thanks
Maybe intake manifold gaskets, these cars were known for those problems in certain years, try doing a search for 95 chevy cavalier recalls or problems

O2 sensor. Doesn't come on all the time. Gives false signal at times. They carbon up and need to be sandblasted or replaced.

go to autoparts store and use their scanner to scan the computer and get the code. you may have to wait until you can catch it back on again. You can try resetting the computer by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes and see if that works first
