Power stearing rx 8 2004 You need cleaning the two gray plugs below canister air filter. One plug have 2 power cables and other plug have four or five cable. You need electric contact cleaner and cleaning both plug terminal pins Verify the contact must be very clean. The more important is the hose for drainage from the coolant bottle. This is the principal cause of throuble. This is a short hose for drainage. When the car is hot, the hose drainage vapor and drops coolant. This vapor and coolant impact the gray plug and the cable is hot. This causes shutdown of the power steering. change the hose to a longer one so it wont drop fluid on to electrical harness. For finish remove the negative battery cable for reset the electrical system. cleaning the main fuse of power stearing on positive pole of battery. Check the contact this needs to be very clean. check the pole of battery. cleaning both poles if necessary change battery connection. Hope this resolves the problem if not please take it to a qualified technician as you dont want to mess around with steering or brakes for that matter.

How do i remove the steering wheel on a 1989 mazda b2200

  • 1st thing you want to do is position the steering wheel straight, easier when you put one back on. If it's never been removed before you might need the help of a puller
  • 2nd is to disable the horn. Easiest way to do that is by just removing the negative cable from your battery.
  • 3rd is to remove center wheel cover on the three spoke steering wheel you can just simply peel the cover off. On two spoke steering wheels (which is stock), you'll need to remove three or four screws on the back side of the steering wheel. Then pull on the front cover, unplug the horn wire from the connecter, and set the center section aside.
  • 4th is to loosen steering wheel retaining nut. With a 21mm or 13/16ths socket and maybe a breaker bar, you'll want to loosen the retaining nut that is holding the steering wheel on the column. Back it off until it is approximately flush with the end of the bolt. Leaving the nut on the end of the bolt will prevent steering wheel from hitting you in the face when and if you try to use your own strength to pull it off.
  • 5th is pull the steering wheel. Try and give a firm tug on the steering wheel while wiggling it right to left to pull it off the column.
As said above, if the steering wheel has never been removed before, it's probably going to require a gear puller or steering wheel puller. You can acquire one of these at your local auto parts store. Good luck

How to get the horn pad off the steering wheel of a Mazda t3500 bus

There are small holes on the back side of the steering wheel that you can insert a small flat blade screwdriver into for releasing the lock tabs which hold the horn pad/air bag on to the steering wheel frame. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST, as you will actually be interfacing with the driver air bag. If you can't figure it out, please post a photo and I'll try harder to help.

Steering hold and back

your car may have a sensor that tells you when you are holding the steering hard against the stops which will keep the pump under load . IF the sign shows again try releasing the steering wheel just a little to stop the pump from being under load and see If it goes out.

Low beam

Make sure you disconnect the battery first, you don't want to take a chance on setting off the airbag. After you remove the airbag, you will have to remove the steering wheel nut, and steering wheel spokes. You will require a puller to pull the steering wheel off the shaft.

How do i change my signal switch in my 1993 mazda 929

Hi Shannon, befor you dive in and replace the indicator switch I would suggest you check the flasher unit. To replace the indicator switch you will need to remove the steering wheel (this usually means using a puller) Don't forget to punch match marks on the steering wheel and the column which must be aligned when assembling. Remove the steering wheel center cover. then the covers on the steering column Removed the screws (usually four) holding the stalk switch. don't forget to disconnect the battery and the wiring connection to the stalk switch. After replacing the assembly is dismantling. Regards John

Mazda rx8 steering heavy

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Please try to fill in the power steering fluid on the power steering reservoir. When filling please move the steering wheel to the left and right for the fluid to go down. This can help lighten the steering wheel. Please do check if you have power steering leakage too for this may be the cause of fluid loss.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
