Question about 1989 Nissan Pathfinder
I changed the coil and the module box and still nothing is there a fuse/relay for the coil? or what should I do next???
There are several pieces to the puzzle.
You would need to verify the coil has battery voltage with the key switch on. Then there is an ignition module that controls spark timing, a pickup coil in the distributor, and so on.
To be able to troubleshoot the system, you would need a book, preferably a shop manual, to get the wiring diagrams and procedures.

Dear Phoebejanis: If your ignition coil is hot and you can get a spark coming off of the coil wire, the only thing I can suspect would be a problem with a bad rotor in the distributor. If the coil is delivering to the distributor but it travels no further, the energy must be dissipating somewhere. If a rotor has a short, the plug wires will never be delivered any spark.
Also a distributor cap with a missing carbon button which rides on the top of the rotor may be missing. I really cant think af any other things it could be.
If I have solved your problem, please let other's know by writing in, so they will learn, not to mention the ATTABOY's I might get.

SOURCE: Distributor wont spark
check the fuseble link.
you can measure it, and make sure the contact are clean and secured.
the other thing is the check the ignition switch, make sure you have 12v going to the switch.
check thermo switch on top of the block.

you need to get a diaghram on the firing order of your spark plug
wires, almost any autoparts store will give you the firing order for
your vehicle. if the firing order is incorrect the engine can sound
like its falling apart. the spark plugs also need to be gapped
correctly, they are not always pre-gapped or check the gap of
one of your old spark plugs and match the gap with the new ones.
