You can go to your Ford Dealer, ask them for a pictured diagram of the parts on your sunroof and you can use that as a guide to repair and get price of part.

SOURCE: Leaky A/C system seals; doesn't hold coolant. Shouldn't this still be under warranty?

Your owners manual should clarify that, but I doubt it very much , unless you got a gold plan or something and are still within the perimeters.

SOURCE: Sunroof won't operate

Sun roofs all have a common problem in design...Ther are all on the roof...and exposed to rain, dirt, dust, etc. etc. Your sliding tracks are probably clogged with the above mentioned and are causing a binding in the track sleeves which makes the motor work much harder and causes the motor brushes to overheat and stall or burn up completly. Next time the motor is replaced, make sure the technician thoroughly cleans and properly lubricates the tracks, sleeves, and guides.

you can buy a whole set of wires at most any auto parts supplier but if you just want one wire the dealer is usually the only place that sells one at a time

SOURCE: the 2005 honda pilot appears to have a rear main seal leak

If a seal is bad yes it will leak. You will have to check with a Honda dealership for accurate warranty information.

SOURCE: Still under warranty, the Ford

there are two things only
1. seal you replaced it ok
2. the place on the axle which fits into the seal can also be bad like scraches or a grove
3. replace the axle

I have a 2006 new beetle had headliner replaced now anything electric does not work windows door locks trunk sun roof

Whoever did the headliner may have cut or shorted out a wire near the sunroof if it's electric. I would take it back to them, tell them what happened, and ask them to fix the problem.

I have a power sunroof it is noisy driving down the road like a air whistle noise. I took it to ford and they say replace the sunroof?? It's just a air leak so I'm not understanding why replace it. Please...

They say replace because it is more money for them. Lots of work to replace them. Replacing the seal around the window is much easier. Even easier is shutting it and sealing the top with silicone. The seal will run between $150 and $200. I don't know why they are expensive, but this is about as cheap as I can get them.

Leaking water

Before spending $800 for a might fix it, I would either tape it shut or seal it shut with silicone sealent. Tape might damage the paint, so be aware of this. Personally I would seal it with silicone, it can always be removes although it is a pain in the rear end. After sealing wait for the next rain and look for leaks. You could pull the headliner out and then run a water hose over the roof and look for a leak as well. A body shop will probably be cheaper to repair it than the dealer. Dealers generally charge around $100/hr for labor. Body shops charge around $65.hr.

Power sunroof wont open on my 2006 hummer. It just makes a popping noise

see technician immediately before more damage is caused to motor, channel, gear and locks, which would be even more difficult to replacw due to scarcity of spares

I have an F150 LLariat w/ sunroof. When it Rains there is a lot of water dripping from under the glove box on the right side. It will fill the channel along the passanger rocker panel.

Most likely the sunroof is leaking. You can permenently seal it or replace the seal. The last roof seal I replaced costs $175.00 for the part.

Sunroof leaks water, how do i fix it?

It's normal for a sunroof to leak a small amount of water past the glass. Although the glass is mounted to brackets, the glass sits in the roof with a weatherstip sealing it. When the vehicle is driven, movement is allowed and rain water will seep past. The channel below the glass has drains in the corners that allow water to flow down a hose and to the lower body. These hoses are routed through the pillars that hold the roof. If one of these draines are plugged the water will back up and overflow out of the channel and into the passenger compartment. Open your sunroof and first check the seal around the glass for nicks, cuts, tears, gaps and correct if neccesary. Then look in the front corners of the roof opening. You will see drain holes. Be sure they are clean. Unfortuantely you can't easily see the rears and the headliner may need to be removed. Sometimes the hoses are plugged with dirt/tar from underneath. Good luck.

Sun roof leaking water

How to Repair a Leaking Car Sunroof Repairing a leaky sunroof usually leads to discovering that the sunroof is not the culprit of the leak. Instead dirt and debris may be the likely culprits since they obstruct the drainage tubes or the drain channel that are part of the sunroof's water management system. Once these are obstructed, the water backs up and heads for the nearest escape, which may be to the interior of your car. The following instructions are to help you repair a leaking car sun roof.
  1. 1)Use a non-abrasive cleaner with a soft cloth to clean the glass panel and the seal on the outside of the car.2)Open the sunroof after opening the vent shade. Allow the sunroof to open to the vent position but do not let it slide backwards.Wipe and clean the trough that is around the opening of the sunroof. 3)Use a wet cloth to remove any debris that may be preventing a tight seal between the trough and the sunroof's seal.Inspect the seal. 4)Look for any cracks in the seal. If you find any, you will need to replace the seal. Contact the car manufacturer or a repair shop to replace the seal.Check the drainage tubes.5) You can use a small cable or even a coat hanger to gently probe around for a few inches to see if there are any clogs or standing water in the tubes.6)Use a thin cable or coat hanger wire again to try to clear the drainage tubes if they are clogged. Make sure whatever you use does not have a sharp end and apply only a little pressure.7)Verify that any of the standing water in the drainage tubes went down by poking a dry thin cable or wire down an inch or and pulling the wire back out.8)Check that the clogs are completely gone in the drainage tubes by pouring a small amount of water into the tubes.

How to Check a Sunroof for Leaks There's nothing nicer than a sunroof in your car, especially on a spring or summer day. Open the sunroof and enjoy the fresh breeze. But check a sunroof carefully for leaks before you buy a used car. It's just good business. 1)Open the sunroof to check for leaks when you are shopping for a used vehicle. First of all, make sure the sunroof opens smoothly and closes securely. A good, snug fit with no cracks or lop-sided setting is a good indication that it won't leak.2)Look carefully around the inside edges of the roof of the car where the sunroof opens. Check a sunroof for leaks by making sure there are no signs of rust or corroded metal around the opening edges. Of course, examine this area while the sunroof is open so that you see all areas on the sunroof opening's edges.3)Check the ceiling inside the vehicle when you check a sunroof for leaks. Look for signs of water stains around the inside ceiling lining of the car at the sunroof's site. Ceiling fabric at the site of the sunroof or around the area of the sunroof that looks spotted or has slight color variations may indicate a sunroof leak.4)See if the car's headliner (the ceiling fabric) is sagging. A leaking sunroof may cause water to run inside the headliner. Water buildup causes the headliner to sag over time.5)Examine the floor of the vehicle carefully when you check a sunroof for leaks. Damp carpet or a mildew smell may indicate a leaking sunroof. Also, look for water stains on seats where water may drip down from the sunroof. This will help. hi from uk the sunroof water drain holes are situated within the gutter below the sn roof surround seal and are both at each rear corner/s of sunroof to un blocktry a length of wire preferably plastic coated and poke the wire and twist as you push in drain tubes then use a small water can as u would use for indoor plants and pour hot water gently into the gutter if main blockage has disturbed ? hot water will/should flush the drain tubes thro you could also continue poking with wire too ? i use a length of wire from house lighting 1;0 mm" use either live or neutral wires (insulated) this always works for me TIP! when you wash car raise sunroof and clean gutter channel with rag to prevent dust collection blocking holes/drains in future
