Code 1492 could be a problem with the high speed relay for the radiator fan.
The relay would need to be tested.

SOURCE: i have a 02 sebring and i get a p1492 code which

Ambient sensor is what i want you to check out, heres a diagram of its location which is the rear of the front bumper on the driverside, check connection and sensor.also are you pulling codes with a generic scan tool? if so this may be the problem it uses common codes try a good scan tool that you can enter the cars info. i think you are getting the wrong code due to the scan tool you are using.

What is meaning of p1492code it is obd code

wow, no car maker stated, no year, (96'+?) and no car model.
and no engine stated, so all answers will be wild guessing. (MINE TOO)! no country stated either.....
meaning now that opens an endless book, huh
3 years off ASE training ,all typed here? 50 years experience. .
here are some small hints.
this is called OBD2 monitors.
and monitor runs full time key on and more running. (like a nanny)
it sees errors and reports them, .
the ASE Tech looks them up in the FSM for this exact car, not others
and finds out what the test does, and why it fails. (test specs)
those are the basic ROPE'S. (and reset it and see if it comes back)
p1 is a factory code not unversal federal P0 codes....
so only the correct book works. alldata.com is best ,IMO.

using google we see the warnings, do not guess at maker names.
and shows, not to guess what it means, P1 means that.
P1492 CHRYSLER
P1492 DODGE
P1492 INFINITI
P1492 JEEP
P1492 MITSUBISHI
P1492 NISSAN
P1492 SUBARU by no means a complete list.

Code is reading p1492 what to fix

You need to identify the vehicle type. Go to Aboutautomobile.com and use this site. Enter p1492 in the DTC window and it will generate an answer by Vehicle make.

As you will see, brand makes a difference.

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima GLE, I Failed the Emission Inspection (DTC) Diagnostic Trouble Codes of "P1492","P1105" What these Codes exactly? mean

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective compute
  • P1105MAP/BARO Pressure Switch Solenoid Valve
  • Check and clean the MAP sensor, or replace.
  • P1492EVAP Canister Purge Control/Solenoid Valve (Circuit)
  • Replacing the purge solenoid will clear code P1492 This should also clear code P0300 as well.

Fuel system 1 status

Need a repair shop to diagnose the problem

Has to do with the fuel injection not going to
closed loop, so the O2 Sensors can control
the fuel injector pulses

Not a home driveway job,too technical,need special
equip to test

Truck dies when i go in reverse and sometimes at stop light

P1595 is a code for speed control solenoid circuits, P1492 is for ambeint/batt temp sensor voltage to high, P0305 is for cylinder no. 5 misfire. The first one could be the servo is unpluged or a bad brake switch. The second may be a unplug sensor( battery temp sensor), The third one check your spark plugs and wires.
