Battery light comes on goes off then came on and stayed on, after bout 15 miles the lights went almost out and then the brake light came on thenthe motor surged....got in the drive way and put in park

have you checked the battery? when they get too low, alternators will not always charge them. if you start the car, and disconnect the positive battery cable, the car should continue to idle.. if not, u need a new alternator.

2005 Chevy Aveo, clicks but start won't catch and when jumped it doesn't charge what could it be??

Your alternator is not charging the Battery, I would replace the battery with a new gel battery and have the alternator checked, bets on your battery just died.

1991 buick century battery light on

Charge your battery and have it tested. Most part stores will do this for you at no cost. I'm leaning towards an alternator issue but it is possible that it could be both the battery and the alternator. Even if it's just the alternator the battery should be fully charged as a discharged battery can damage the alternator.

1999 Honda Accord New battery Alternator checked at Auto Zone and Advance auto put alternator back on car still batery still goes dead in about 30 miles

Yes you could have an ECU problem but there are a number of tests that need to be done. I have found in a couple of the accords to be an open wire. Below is a picture of the connector at the alternator. Unplug it and turn the key to the on position (make sure your battery is fully charged) check the number 1 position of the plug. There should be battery voltage there. If there isn't you need to locate the open black & yellow wire. That wire should go directly to the fuse box inside the vehicle. This has happened a couple of times in my shop. You could have other problems but would try this first. If all is well with this tests feel free to email me at csautomotivecars@att.net with all your information and I will be happy to give you some other tests to perform in order to narrow down the problem. No there wouldn't be a charge for my help, don't mind helping when I can. As long as you can kinda follow and locate wires/connectors and have a digital volt/ohm meter (and know how to use it) I think narrowing down the problem will be fairly easy. On this picture I am going by that you have the most common engine (4 cylinder 2.3) If you have the DV or LX model with the V6 3.0 liter engine there may be a difference so this test might not be correct. Was just going with the common engine. Hope this helps......

Why won't new alternator charge battery when car is running

Many cars have a voltage regulator that is integral to the alternator. Check to be sure it is properly connected. One year later afternoon the day before the Turkey was to be cooked I replaced the Alternator. I drove 200 hundred miles and had the car die at the gate to my destination. I failed to properly connect the Voltage Regulator on the Alternator. Look in that direction for a bad wire, fuse, connector.

2001 nissan pathfinder. seems electronic. first seemed dead battery, put in new battery. fine for couple of days. then dashboard warning signals, oil, battery, brakes, and airbag, start going on. then...

Have your alternator checked. Most auto supply places do this at no charge. Multiple dashboard warning lights usually indicate alternator problems.

Engine won't run properly then dies and won't start without charge

Sounds like your alternator is shot. Remove your alternator and take it into Advance Auto Parts store and they can do a test on it. Don't waste any more money on batteries until you get this checked.

Also, don't be fooled by some sellers. A rebuilt alternator is just as good as a new one.
