I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible 6 cyclinder when I am stopped it idles low and at times when coming to a stop it jerks like I hit the gas as I am breaking. Any easy fixes to help this issue?

Its an old car. This means the transmission is old as well. Make sure you dont have a oil leak and that your checking your fluids regularly. If u dont take care of a car that old things like this will get worse

Well it sounds like a carrier bearing, transmission, or wheel bearing because when i am at a stop and hit the gas to the floor there is like a grinding noise it also happens when i am going around turns...

The carrier bearing and the transmission dont know or care that you are turning, so I would check the wheel bearings. See if you can duplicate the sound turning left or right like you would be swerving or changing lanes. Or it may have nothing to do with any bearing. See if you can hold the brakes and push on the gas and see if you can duplicate the noise without the truck moving?? Maybe a bad engine mount and the radiator fan is hitting the shroud??

When i hit the gas it revs the engine before it actually starts going and when i hit the brake hard it stutters like its gonna shut off

Sounds like you may have a transmission problem. When was the last time you changed the tranny fluid? If your fluid is fresh and topped off properly then your transmission definately has a problem!

Checking tranny: with engine running place tranny thru all gears (brake applied) put back in park, keep engine on, pull tranny dipstick and check level.

If you do these things and you still have a problem you may need to take to a transmission shop.

A little transmision hesatation.

Bear in mind that for the transmission to work properly, the engine needs to be running at optimum specs. If the engine is even just a tiny bit off these, the transmission will not respond properly. For instance, a partially clogged air filter will cause these symptoms.A project such as what you're wanting to do with modifying your car Will set you back about 3000 dollars and Will affect your gas mileage, to the point that it is economically not feasible..accordianman
