This sounds like something you should not check yourself. I would go to a good Front-end alignment shop for an evaluation. It could be in the Brakes, but a Brake shop may not have an Alignment rack, while Alignment shops can offer both services.

There are some Tire shops which can offer both services too, and many do good work, but they need the Alignment rack to be cleared quickly and your car may need several services with what you describe.

On the plus side, the Crown Vic is a popular model and parts are easy to get.

I think my tie rods went bad on my 2004 cavalier the steering stopped all of a sudden no brakes hard to it the tie rods

Sounds like the car stalled while you were driving. That would cause the power steering to stop and make the steering hard and the engine vacuum to fall off and make the brakes very hard to apply. There is really no other scenario that would cause both systems to fail at the same time. And no, it is NOT the tie rods, regardless of what actually happened.

1978 chev motorhome brakes are hard to push down to stop

If they are standard power brakes, check the vacuum booster. The diaphragm may be broken. If it holds a vacuum it's OK. If the brakes run through the power steering pump, make sure the belt is tight and the steering is smooth.

When turning wheel a squealing noise comes from the steering coloum.........seems like it might be worse going into a corner hard........may sound like something turning in the coloum itself...............

The squealing noise when turning the steering wheel happens in most cases when the power steering fluind is low. Check to see if there is power steering fluid in the reevoir. If not add fluid to the proper level and the squealing should stop. Good luck

Steering wheel locked in place, key will not turn...

Very likely the steering thrust stored in the tires attempting to turn back is forcing excessive tension against the steering lock.

Try (very hard) to turn the steering wheel either direction while turning the key gently.

If that solves it you can avoid this by letting go of the steering after stopping to park, turn off the ignition slowly (engine off, pause, then key out). This will ensure that the steering wheel comes to rest prior to locking the column.

Fluttering when running the air conditioner when coming to a stop

most likelly your a/c system is building too much pressure on the high side i won't recomend you to use the a/c until you have it repair because it might broke you belt and then you will have a very hard steering and might overheat so don't use a/c unlees problem fix
