Check your connections @ lights, fuses, and altenator, and inspect the wiring.

Why do my headlights flicker off and on when am Driving

If they are flickering on and off, you either have a loose connection or a short in the wiring. If it flickers only from vibration, you have a mounting bracket loose. Look near the connectors to see if you have any ***** wiresand chk the connectors to make sure they are fully seated and connected. Front and back.

Headlights flicker when going down the road

I would suspect that the headlight switch has a burned connector, pull it out and inspect it. If the connector appears heat damaged or melted replace the connector and the switch, not just one part, both. Do not crimp connect the new connector on, solder it and use shrink tubing to seal the solder joints.

relay coil may be a bit weak and is sharing power with the headlight relay. Try swapping the relay with the horn relay or another similar one that is non-essential to operation of the car. If that doesn't work, you may have a loose wire on the headlight switch or at the relay socket.

I just had this problem. There was a screw loose on the hi-beam switch. You have to take off the plastic cover on the steering column to get to it. Really simple to fix yourself (5 minutes tops). 4 screws and the turn of a small wrench. Free if you do it yourself, $600 if you take it to the dealer.

my 99 dakota has gone thru 3 switches. I have found that if they do it now ---i take off the instrument guard ---no screws ---
unscrew the headlamp switch ----and spray all movable parts with wd-40 it fixes it for about 3 months. my theory is the switch gets wet from AC condensation and builds up a film that the switch arm just rides on. hope this helps.
