It might be beneficial to you to go to a scrapyard and take a look at one that hasn't been chopped up! You may even want to buy whatever has been removed while you are there!

1989 caprice with 350 tbi injectors won't pulse anymore

If you have spark, the computer is getting the signal to pulse the injectors.
If you have power but no ground pulse, you may have fried the driver in the computer again.
You could get a used computer from a junk yard to test it.
There could be a short in one of the injectors or the harness at the computer, or a break in the circuit from the computer, and that could kill the driver in the computer.

I'm working on a 97 geo prizm and need to find the ignition relay,I rplaced the ignition switch and have no power getting to the switch, there is power at the harness and I can bypass the switch an

If you can jump it at the switch and get it to start, then the ignition relay must be working. It is hard to tell from your post but I think you are using power from another source to do this? I am thinking you have a blown fuse on the wire the furnishes power to you ignition switch.

We thought it was just a regular ignition switch problem, but after removing the bottom of the dash (under the steering wheel) we found...Get this... a duplicate key taped to the wires, and secured by a...

Okay, I like challenges so will take this on! I would guess that either you have a wire that was rubbed through the insulation and is now making contact with your steering column (check for a blown fuse) or you have a bad ground in the steering colum that the channel locks was compensating for. Hopefulling it is a shorted wire because that is easier and more localized to find. A bad ground will have to be figured out by where the channel locks were located before.

Note: If the car started with the wiring harness plugged in, then that was part of the problem but something else happened when you closed it up and made it pretty. Suggest you take the steering column apart again and as soon as you do, try to start it with no changes other than the covers off. If it starts look for that shorted wire - BUT check for the blown fuse FIRST!

It would be the ignition or those ignition wires because of the kill switch being poorly installed, id try tracing wires first and replace anything thats been cut/spliced into. if not change the ignition

I have a 1992 buick regal gran sport . i wanting to use it as a fwd race car. i bought it from an old lady does not know where the key is. i need to brake the ignition lock and wire it directly to a kill...

easier way to go about this would be just remove the lock cylinder would be alot easier than trying to break the steer wheel lock once cylinder is removed u can start car with a screwdriver or wire in push button if u want
far as kill switch goes hook that straight to the battery that will kill all power to car (must race tracks require it done this way too)

Ignition switch is broken, need to start truck using a button on the steering column...previous owner said he needed to use starting fluid after ignition switch broke...i assume glow plugs are not getting...

you certainly have a problem, checking th glow plugs is easy, 12 volts at the harness to each plug and resistance for the for the plugs, if they are bad it will read open circuit, as for toggling the circuit, bad idea, the original circuit cuts out when the plugs are glowing, without it you willl be constantly burning glow plugs,

I had this same problem & cause was an aftermarket security system that was disabled by previous owner but never removed & therefore backfed 14.5volts into ignition system over time & destroyed it.Fix is replace ignition control module, computer control module & ignition wiring harness, also I must add that reprogramming is also required for modules & both keys.Unless you know a GOOD GM mechanic who will do this on the side & get you the parts at his cost, this is a COSTLY fix at dealer $900-$1200,about 6-8hrs labor.

Car won't start

Maybe he also installed kill switch that you don't know about.  Ask previous owner.
If not, maybe one the wires on his switch has come off or has corrosion.
