1997 ford f150 4.6 ltr. have problem with vibration under vehicle
Ford f150 4.6 ltr. 1997 has a problem vibration coming from underneath the vehicle at speeds between 35 and 50 mph . This does not happen all the time . Mildly more frequently and sometimes badly for about 30sec. and then quiets. Please give me some idea's.

i think its time you got a greener vehicle ,check engine light could be anything from a split rubber hose on a vacumn pipe to a oxygen sensor ,also the noise underneath would need a mechanic to jack it up and have a look ,why not buy a nice peugeot partner or ford courier diesel manual for work
There should be 2 bolts in a bow-tie shaped braket on the top of the shock, with a nut on the other side, through the frame. There should be one large bolt and nut on the bottom of the shock, through a braket on the rear axle.
Lift the vehicle up by the frame on both sides, so that the axle is dangling underneath the vehicle, and the shocks should be very easy to remove and reinstall.
Ford contour has 4 O2 sensors, one under the coil pack between the engine and firewall (bank 1, sensor 1 and it's a pain to reach), one in front between the radiator and engine and two accessible from underneath.
