Location of fuel reset switch on 1999 lincoln navigator

My car died approx last feb. just dead battery one a.m. after not driving it for a few days in very cold weather. battery was old. didn't get battery replaced till yesterday, approx 11 mths later, so car has sat and not ran for that amt of time. i live in pa and of course it is around 5-10 degrees out which doesn't help. car has power after battery change yesterday but doesn't want to start. not out of gas, even added some gas yesterday as well as a bottle of gas line antifreeze. don't want to keep trying to start and drain new battery. do you think it is possible that i tripped the fuel reset switch? do you know the location? i used to, but haven't driven that car for almost a year and forgot. have a lot of stuff in the car, so before i go outside to freeze and move things around to search for it i thought i'd ask if you knew the location. i would guess the rear of vehicle on one side, probably under a pc of carpet, but i almost thought perhaps it was under the dash on passenger side, but i may be thinking of the reset for the level ride. had a town car before, so could even be thinking of that cars location. any help or suggestions of what i can try to get it going before i have to call aaa and have it towed to the dealer and add to the expenses. anything i can use to spray in engine area to help it restart after this length or anything like that?
thank you for any help joanna

I can't get my 1999 lincoln town car to start

I will try to give you 2 sets of senarios depending on whether it cranks over or not.

There is a safety switch on the Brake pedal which sends a signal to the Brake lights and a starter circuit. If the Brake lights do not light up with a foot on them, then a starter signal will not go through either.

Look under the Driver's dash for the Brake switch on the Brake pedal lever. It could be broken of pushed out if place.

Cranks but no start. The Inertia switch is common problem. It can be located in the trunk or behind the kick panels of the front floor. It has a reset button to push.

Loss of fuel pressure. After checking the Inertia switch if you still have no fuel pressure the pump may be bad.

Now there are other reasons like a dead battery, bad starter, etc.

We need more details to supply additional answers.

I have 1999 lincoln navigator and I stopped to get gas and car did not start back up,had battery charged and 5 miles later dead. So I changed altinator to new one made it home. The next morning truck is...

Sounds as though your battery is not capable of taking
a charge & is in need of replacement.

Was the old alternator tested BEFORE you replaced it

You learn nothing by just replacing things, correct diagnoses
or on a guess

When you say what is that

There a a dozen things that could it be

Battery
Battery Cable issues
Electrical issues such as a bad ignition switch

It starts but quits,so you have an open circuit somewhere

Can not even guess at that, need to see a wiring diagram
after experiencing the problem first hand

Lincoln towncar 1999 not starting ive already replaced fuel filter, i have fuel pressure. maybe something wrong with antitheft ? i dont know its driving me crazy please help!!!!

This has become a pretty common problem with the mid to late nineties lincolns. I had the same problem. What I found out from research and trial and error is your battery may be weak. So try replacing your battery. also try resetting your Inertia shut off switch located in the trunk on the drivers side front panel.

Cranks but doesnt have fuel pressure but will start with starter fluid then dies immediatly. will stay running with starter fluid

fuel pump is bad, (in tank). Or, no power to pump. reset inertia switch if tripped. Se owner manual for location.

check fuel presure, will be zero, I think. Should be 40 psi

I had this problem last year with my LincolnI. I took it in and for 200 bucks I had to replace a wire that went out of my air suspension. Right after that it drove smooth again.

1999 lincoln navigator fault code

Your cilinder 2 sensors are going wacky. located close to the cilinder itself. you may need to replace them chec your repair book for specific locations. Thenget a OBDII reader to erase code. Some autos if you disconnect your battery cable for a few may reset it to stop the blinking.

My rear windshield wipers work randomly. Why? ?"I drive a 1999 lincoln navigator.

you could have a faulty wire connection at the motor, a faulty switch or your relay is broken, try to get a relay first and then look at the motor and lastly it sould be your switch.

1999 lincoln fuel pump

My fuel pump on my 1998 Lincoln Continental has no power. I checked the fuse it is good. I checked the fuel shutoff switch it was fine. I have traced the wire from the fuel shutoff switch to the fuel module driver in the trunk. The wire has power. I have also traced the positve wire from the fuel pump to the fuel driver on a different terminal, this wire has no power from the pump. I also changed the fuel driver, the low fuel pressure switch, the alternator, and battery.does anyone have any suggestion's?
